Over the years I know GOG has done a number of "editorials" or articles about specific games, developers, studios, etc. Are these articles collected together someplace on this website where I can find them easily? I can't find them now... you just kinda stumble upon them once in awhile.

Because of the Interplay sale, I was investigating both Giants and Sacrifce, and they both have pretty cool articles associated with them. Maybe GOG has these articles together somewhere, but I can't find it.

If not... please make it so! I'm sure they might help someone else stumble on a great old game they never thought they'd like!
They are hidden in the news feed. Go here: http://www.gog.com/en/news/save_50_on_all_interplay_destinations_with_gog_coms_summer and click the drop down menu beside "more news." You can browse by month. I am unaware of a better way.

Still wish they could publish the King's Quest story and continue with many more of the same behind the scenes editorials, like the VH1 of vintage pc

thats a great link thanks, lots of interesting content, for instance...
"Fans of Bungie’s Halo series on Xbox may also be interested to note that this game is an early example of series composer Marty O’Donnell’s work, and also features minor voice work from Steve Downes (as a character called “Gunnar”), who would eventually go on to become the voice of the Master Chief, at O’Donnell’s recommendation. Depending on your outlook, this is either interesting trivia or evidence that Septerra Core is officially the Most Important Videogame In Existence. The choice is yours."

Hmmm, thanks for the posts. But I don't think I described what I want very well.

Remember last year (or this year?) when GOG did like a 2-part or 3-part article (editorial?) on the King's Quest series? Or maybe it was about Sierra? See, I can't even remember... but that's what I'm looking for. All those "stories" or "behind the scenes" articles that GOG writes sometimes. I have no idea where to find them.

It's not a News item... but sometimes the links to those stories are buried *within* a News story. Like, sometimes GOG will have a sale, and then buried in the News item for the sale, will be a link to a "story" or "behind the scenes" or something. I don't want to have to click on each and every News item forever, just to find those stories.

Maybe there's a common name for them that I can search for?

I don't think there is a common name for them, unfortunately :(

Exactly! I love those stories, but I have no idea how to find any more of them.

Sooooo tedious. Wish GOG would collect them together somehow... like with an "Articles about Games" section, e.g.

Ha! Yes, exactly!

I'll tell ya... the best "history lesson" I've found about vintage PC gaming is to head over to the CGW Museum (cgw.vintagegaming.org) and browse through their MASSIVE back-catalog of (eventually) every issue of Computer Gaming World in PDF format. There is also a gallery of just the front covers of the mags, which will help you narrow down a particular game or era. There are over 170 issues of the mag for download currently, dating back to 1981 and currently upto 1998 (they continue to add more issues every month). There are lots of reviews, hints, cheats, and strategy articles for the games that GOG sells (the earlier games, anyway). Eventually they'll have all the mags up through 2006! Great stuff...

Yes. The GOG search function needs improvement.
