GameRager: I want to enjoy a storyline and not be surrounded by a bunch of others killing me all the time

Fujek: On the not being killed all the time point, I'll agree with you. Though I found that after a bit of dedication to a game, I'm often mediocre enough to end with an even or slightly positive rate on that end. When that's not the case, I simply log out and take another game to vent off :p
When we're talking about storyline, I enjoy that, but I seriously dislike the limitations. I'm a weirdo and whether proud of it or not, I'm going to stay one. So my attempted solutions are often rather different from the intended ones, leaving me with a bad taste of 'hey, why can't I just do xyz, all I need is RIGHT THERE.' Not to mention the difficulty with predefined dialogues.
I just love a good storyline in a pen and paper RPG though, when playing with others and a game master that can react upon my dumb ideas ;)
By storyline I agree.......but I meant FPS/etc for storyline. Quake while weird was good, as was Q2 in a way. I liked em both, as well as Q4.

GameRager: FPS/etc for storyline
I never really understood the shooter storyline. I always played them as aim at the pixel that awards positive points while trying to maintain whatever resource I'm assigned.
If I'm in a mining scenario (Descent), trying to get my revenge after harsh betrayal (Crusader), or am stuck with some aliens (Unreal) doesn't really get me a kick, unless for the graphics, or to explain some basic game concepts.

GameRager: Thaanks for the info.....also some music as a reward:

The Anthem
Not my kind of music.

Anyway, it seems that you think I'm stating the obvious. If so, why won't you stop writing such requests? If you know there's a difference between "live" list and bestselling list, just use the correct one.

To me an FPS storyline is like the icing on the cake....even if it's a cliched generic one like kill the ultimate evil/etc. It gives reason for the madness of shooting everything that moves, and a few FPS even pull it off to great effect(Blood/etc).

I actually was thanking you. :)

My bad then, double 'a' in 'thaanks for the info' fooled me.
