I've tried searching for a similar topic, but no results, so here it goes:

What do fellow GOGlodytes do for a living, or what do they do in life generally? Does your job/studies leave you enough time for Good Old Gaming, or do you have to travel a lot?

Myself, I used to work as a teacher, but I hated every minute of it, so I took the plunge and accepted a government job as a translator/proofreader. The salary is meagre (as is for all other government jobs), but I can earn a fair amount of cash working as a translator on the side. Fortunately, GOGs are very cheap. :) Sometimes I have lots of free time for gaming, sometimes I'm busy for the entire week, but at least I've got a job that suits my temperament.

What about you?

Event management person and IT person and database guy and etc (small company, wears many hat). But soon going to be full time writer, translator and 3d modeller.

Self-employed. Owner and sole employee of a souvenir shop. I work 4-5 months a year and live off what I make for the rest of the year through tight budgeting, and I invest and save the rest for the future. I also take occasional programming and translation work online, but that amounts to peanuts.

I work in auto insurance. I get benfits and my company keeps growing so job security.

I work in a flight simulators company. I'm an IT guy and I mainly do maintenance but I also visit clients all around the world for simulators installation.

Mechanical engineer. I work in the planning and construction phases of steel construction projects, mostly in the electrical power sector. AutoCAD, a lot of books on standards and an assortment of measuring devices are my tools of the trade.

Managed bookstore for a while, but quit last December. Currently unemployed.

I'm a software developer. I work with Customer Relations Management systems for the telecommunications and digital content provider industry.

I'm a software developer too. I fairly recently started working on a Business Process Management system.
