If you are a true man or girl.. you will hate your spine but still be good in games.
I would like a good backsupport.. I also would like that world would be filled with pizza and those sweet supports..
Hurts to write.. my.. spine.. it.. is..broken.

..what was the subject? =)
Ok, I probably wasn't clear enough in the OP, but this wasn't meant to be a "Tell me what your chairs are like or what you want in a chair" thread. It was meant to gather semi-factual (as in less-than-opinions) statements about so-called "Gaming Chairs" and how they stack up to regular swivel desk chairs.

This is forum.. if we don't post opinions. Who would? I'm leftie so I have a bit trouble occasionally (if the gamee won't let me chance keys properly. Well, not much trouble but I hate "wasd"-control.
Also.. Gaming-chairs are a bit too expensive. And you can read that sentence´.. Too expensive. (seriously)
Propably those are great. Not gonna never have those. =)

That doesn't give you the right to derail someone else' thread and take it in your own direction. If you want your own discussion, start your own thread.

Don't take it seriously. No harm at least meaned.
something like this makes for a really comfortable gaming chair. however they tend to be just a little low for use with the common desk.

just make sure you get one that not only twists on a mount with bearings and has a spring flex mount where the pivot joins the base: if it doesn't have something with bearings you will end up breaking it as metal rubs on metal, and if it doesn't have a flex mount you will end up putting stress on the welds each time you lean back and end up cracking them.

and yes I learned all that the hard way.

Yeah, I built one of those on a spare Saturday:)
Screw it, these things are more trouble than they're worth. If I ever decide to get anything close to a "Gaming Chair", I'll just go hunting for a used BattleTech Cockpit Simulator Pod, and swap out some of the hardware. Every arcade nationwide that's ever had them has upgraded to the latest "Tesla II" pods, so there's gotta be at least enough parts to put one whole 2.0 pod together. Of course, that kinda defeats the purpose of being able to swivel around from PC to TV and back.
Whatever happened to a good beanbag?

That's so true, but, who needs anything when a good ol' log will do the trick? yes sir.

Beans got expensive, so they started using Styrofoam "beads". But "Oh No!", Styrofoam is bad for the ozone!

And that's how the beanbag died.
Actually, I could also really do with a new chair for my desk. The problem is that our computer desk is sort of jammed into a corner behind the stairwell, so there isn't a lot of room. Hence, I'm using a small cheap swivel chair with a very small backrest, and no armrests at all. The only configuration option it has is up/down, and it gets rather uncomfortable after a while.
Ahh.. when my good old swirvel chair died, the pains of finding something new.
Ended upp whit a moveable table for hte machine, and a "fixed" chair whit a small buildup. works for me, and makes it easier to see the tv when some loading takes to long..
