EASY...Myst.
100+ hours in and was still stuck on the first puzzle. I rest my case!
I highly doubt that any point and click game contains 100 hours of content, 15-20 tops
I recommend Broken Sword though because of all the locations you visit around the world - makes it seem pretty epic!

Well, if you are looking for the longest journey, you will find it in... The Longest Journey.

...

Ok, that was bad.

edit: And I did not even properly read the "100+ hours" condition. I mean, you could take that long, but I would say 40h is more appropriate.

"The longest journey" is true to its name and is pretty long, maybe the longest adventure game I ever played. When you explore everything and don't use a walkthrough you can easily put 30-40 hours into it.
But an adventure game with at least 100 hours of playtime? I don't think it exists and I don't think it would work, because they are to dependent on story and dialogues, where it takes a lot of effort to create a really long game.
At least 100 hours!? O-o

Cartoonish? Have you tried Discworld or Toonstruck? I have no idea how long those two are, though. Day of the Tentacle is pretty cartoonish too.

My bad, I was being a smart ass. I actually just started Steel Sky and I tend to think the length of these games has a lot to do with the player. I check EVERTHING over and over and over. When Maniac Mansion first came out I scanned every crack of every wall and it took me weeks to finish. A year or so ago I played it and had it won within an hour.

ok seems like a 100+ hour game like this doesnt exist :(

so what's the longest 2D, cartooney, point and click adventure game?

sorry if im a bit picky but its for me and my son, we tag-team point and click adventure games and we seem to finish them rather quickly.

Nice to people playing games with their kids :) Have you considered playing some TBS games as well? Most of them have hot-seat, so you can play together. Just a thought...
Without any numbers to back up: "Floyd" appeard to be very long to me when I played it back then when PCs where made of wood. At least longer than anything from Lucas or Sierra.

Time might play me a mind trick.

The problem is, how do you measure the length of an adventure game? By how long it takes when you do everything exactly right, or by how long it takes including the time spent where you have no idea what to do next? If the latter, that can vary wildly. A game could last you 100 hours, but only if you're really bad at adventure games. I probably spent over 100 hours on Riven as a child, but I can burn through adventure games pretty quickly nowadays.
