Void is an advertisement supported service, where you can play games for free, in exchange for watching ½-1min worth of advertisement each time you start the game.

Slots is basically a limiting factor, preventing you from just downloading every game in the catalogue. You can change game about once every 14 or so days, unless you "upgrade" it.

So they are full games but you have mysterious advertising?

If you want to change game, you can do that once without having to worry abut the time limit (a form of protection against beginners mistakes).

*edit* And yes, they are full games.

The games on void is somewhat limited right now and dont think it has increased in a month or two. I tried neverend and found the adverts didnt bother me too much.
I use it only to play Traffic Giant 2012 edition, because it's not sold anywhere else than GG.

If it goes to GOG, I'd buy it right away.

I tried Neverend and found it didn't launch at all, not even the adverts. Interestingly enough, I can install it through Void but it says it's not available in my region when I want to buy it.

Guess I'll have to go back to my pirated copy until GOG gets it.

It just plays when you start the game, so you can go and make tea or something while the advertisement plays. And really, it is no worse than the advertisement you get after watching 2 youtube movies.

If anything, this is why it is likely to fail. Advertisers will get wise to this and simply move their advertising elsewhere.

I wonder how many actually does something else during the advertisement though. We have all heard how switching TV-channel during advertisement breaks is killing TV, but it has not actually done so. So I guess most people are simply too lazy to do something about it.
-Hear about this void service at GG
-Decide "Hey, this is a pretty cool idea, I'll check it out"
-Open up the GG website and visit the page to check out the games
-"This service is not available in your country"

And that's the end of my experience with Void

Any special reason? How better is it than the regular gold version?
