this is a supposed viral vid for the new portal/hl2ep3 bundle.
http://www.wegame.com/watch/Whats_in_the_Box/
many people have said it's a fanmade video, and it looks like it could be, someone made the argument "how would someone find a crashed bus?" to that I say, if this fan happens to have a great deal of disposeable income, the film will come regardless of the cost.
Just watched it and it was very interesting, kind of reminds me of viral vids for the halo series. I hope this is from Valve and they continue to drop hints like this. Trying to figure out what they are going to release is always was fun for me. They have hinted numberous times about a Portal/Half-Life sequel and I think the two together would make a invigorating new puzzle/shooter. I have been trying to stay away from FPS lately, but I would pick up the sequel to the two.

Hmm, Samsung ad maybe? Saw the phone being prominently displayed.
I think it's a fan-made thing, can't be real.
Did some digging, Valve says this isn't one of theirs.

Fan made my ass. Also, the video is awesome.
PAIN
I'm just taking a wild stab here, but is there a chance it's related to the new Raven game "Singularity"? They mention the word several times...
Regardless of what it is I have to say that video was awesome.
Fairly well done, cleaver how they make the video low resolution so that they can cover up some of the CG stuff.
It be pretty hard to believe this wasn't from Half-Life because:
1-it uses music/sound from the game (then again, it also uses music from Lost)
2-the cloud looks vaguely familiar.
3-Persistent first person/lack of user audio is a Half-Life staple
4-The question What's in the Box? is a possible reference to the Orange Box.

Gabe has said he's a fan of the lost series and there are references to it in half-life 2 episode 2.

It reminds me a lot of that other fan made half-life video. Had *very* similar CG and some terrible acting. It was basically a couple of rebels trying to escape the city. Can't for the life of me find the link though.

It has to be fan made. The only thing it could possibly advertise is a Valve game (used sounds), and Valve denied any relation to the video, so I think it's pretty sure someone with plenty of time and money wanted to make a vid...
And a damn good one, I might add
I'd guess fan-made, too. Though it was a fantastic video!
And man, I can't wait for Episode 3 :))

there's actually a website.. www.whatsinthebox.nl I think..
it actually references some guys who won a mythbusters contest for some video award, I can only assume that these guys are the guys who filmed it. Steve Roeters or something.
Pretty darn good for a fan made video though.
If it's fan-made, then they've done an excellent job with it.
