It was said in this thread that this whole thing with the stalking trade scammer will blow over and things will return to normal. i'm not so sure it's that simple. This individual has received a great deal of attention. Has impacted the forums in a notable way. A successful troll occurred. If that wasn't the original motivation, then i'd think it may be now.

Join date matters not. Excluding people from community events for being new is yet another aspect to this troll. The real turd behind this can simply set up multi-accounts that they play nice with. Then weeks or months down the road that account gets nutty. The troll having many such accounts. This could be endless. There is an individual in this thread who admitted to creating multi-accounts. Going so far as to name some. The join dates were significantly varied.

Yeah, rep is rather random like that. I'm sometimes puzzled to see which of my posts get repped one way or the other. It never seems to be the posts that I would expect to get downrepped for that get downrepped for. It's usually because I pissed off some ignorant fanbois that doesn't like the fact that many companies don't take TPP seriously.

One might not agree with it, but it's BS to downrep because you don't agree.

Apologies vexxum. i was not thinking of you while writing that post. i only thought of the greater topic here. Was replying to the talk about that multi-account scammer who stalked people on the forums and in private messages.

i absolutely hate witch hunts. The wrong people get hurt. And it is too easy to engineer. i think the greatest evil that scammer did, was to turn people distrustful of new joins. Is not cool that innocent new joins get harassed by others, cuz of something some dickhead did. The whole tone of the forum turns. Is not cool.

Wow. Just read through that thread. He got slaughtered in there. He even got downrepped for asking how to earn rep. People just need to calm down and not assume the worst in newcomers.

I think that this community on average is quite a bit older than a lot of other gaming forums. You came in acting your age and due to recent events, people assumed you were someone else and probably also thought you were a dickish adult and not a minor.

i've read those posts. It is my assumption that you were down-repped cuz some people are still over-bothered with the scams. They shoot first, ask questions later. They do more harm than the original foul.
