Luther is said to have said: "If I know the world ends tomorrow, I'll plant an apple tree today". Actually, I did have plans to plant an apple tree tomorrow, but due to time restraints, I'll wait till spring (too many other things to do tomorrow, and it takes a lot of digging).

That was me. Tacos for lunch.
I'll be doing a quick search to see how many doomsday shelters are on sale, heavily discounted for curiosity's sake.

Then again, they might only start to popup on the 22nd.

So, it isn't the end of the world after all? Instead (the theory I adhere to) the maya's ran out of stone to write upon?

Ugh, I feel so disgusted by this.
Has anyone looked up the long count?
I hate how the media is hyping it up and saying "Were the mayans right or wrong?" It's not a question of whether they were right or wrong. It's just a new cycle in the calender.

Your's is probably the true answer, mine is just a silly joke. Just like this thread is a silly joke. And Maya calendar cycles ending having anything to say about what actually happens on an ordinary day in 2012 long after their civilization was killed alas, is silly as well.

Really? I thought it was a funny joke when I heard it, I didn't realize it existed as a theory people actually believe in o_0. That's, well, sad.
Probably spending it celebrating my parents' wedding anniversary.
Someone said the ending of the world would be between 9 and 10 PM local time.
So enough time for an anniversary diner and drinks. This time, no worries about headaches the day after.
