Well.....this is certainly not what I was expecting at all. Still pretty cool though none the less.

You know I may have been right (okay, somewhat right....). If EA's classic catalog is coming to GOG, then maybe we might see System Shock 2 on GOG after all (EA owns the rights to the System Shock series right?).

Okay, we heard everyone's speculations, now I want to hear your reactions to the big news of EA's classics coming into the GOG fold.

-----(Edit)-----

The universe just loooves proving me wrong doesn't it?

"While the agreement between Electronic Arts and GOG.com brings back many acclaimed and well known franchises, it doesn’t include the much anticipated System Shock or Syndicate series at this time."

My reaction?

"Oh, neat."

I'm not a very excitable guy. :/

What bothers me is that EA never released the classic Command & Conquer games including Dune 1 & 2 and all the othe classic titles to GOG.com.

Yeah. About covers it.
I'm really upset that I apparently have to wait for the Kilrathi Saga. Im thinking about breaking a few things.
I didn't care much for the news about Witcher.
Good to hear about the EA catalogue, but the key news for me were the three questions answered towards the end. I was interested in the length of negotiations with EA, which probably means that they are in the middle of negotiations with other companies as well, i.e. Lucasarts. Also, the fact that they are actively working towards getting the SS series. Overall, I wasn't disappointed.

edit: I don't own a console and don't intend on buying one but I guess I'm happy about the console port of TW2. More revenue for GOG hopefully also means more goodies and games and publishers for us PC gamers.

And the papercraft spoof was hilarious. Can someone upload it on youtube? Epic trolling.

EA is a big name, but these particular games don't interest me much. I'm a little curious about WC:P, but that's about it. But then, I'm a more casual gamer than most here on GOG.
I sat in a corner and cried after hearing that TW2 was coming to the 360 and not the ps3. But then I got over it (temporarily) after hearing that they got EA.
"Dang, it's not Lucasarts!"

I'll look at Crusader when that comes. I'm interested in Dungeon Keeper, but I hear there are two versions and this is the weaker one.

I was expecting it, but I still exploded with glee when it was confirmed.
Wow.

That's all I have to say, lol.

I'm just excited that we're able to obtain those cool games. I was expecting for System Shock but I read the backstory on the history of this series and I realized that it can't be helped.

Nonetheless, I'm very eager to see the games that will pop up here soon.
Honestly... total lack of surprise. By the time they got around to actually announcing it, the GOG forum hype machine had already pretty much determined what the announcement was going to be. However, the games they chose to announce, that was a bit surprising, only in that I would have expected the System Shock games to be the first out of the gate from EA, given how long GOGites have been begging for them. Wing Commander, Ultima and Dungeon Keeper were pretty much an inevitable eventuality to my mind, but not "first release" titles.
*deep breath*

Shame about the lack of System Shock and Syndicate for now, though.
I'd like to amend my statement with the following...

Now that EA is here, hopefully the Bard's Tale series will be soon available. :-D
I was a bit sad for once I was hopeful to play as Kyle Katarn again.
