it was made from dirt blocks *epic lulz inside*
Two bedroom apartment with a college buddy of mine. It was an old complex and not in the best part of time. The lady underneath us was a prostitute, and we had some interesting stories about the shady people that would go in and out of her place. It wasn't a horrible place to live though, aside from that one neighbor, and for a couple of college students it was just about perfect. For one thing, her being a prostitute meant that she wasn't in any position to complain about us making too much noise playing halo over her living room!
It was with a queen-size bed, with no air conditioner, Rp. 250.000,- per month (back in the days where 1 USD is about Rp. 2.500,- or less, so it was about 100 USD then, in comparison that 1 USD is about Rp. 9.000,- right now, see that we're falling on hard times), no hot water, no breakfast (or lunch and dinner for that matter), in a dead end street about 1 km from campus.

I lived with a family (the father was an ex-consulate general staff of Indonesia previously stationed in the US, with a wife, a son, three daughters, and two maids), so basically I rented a room. There are actually 4 rooms. I had various roommates (from 1 to 5) for a while, but they all basically moved out in the end, looking for cheaper rooms (such as one with Rp. 150.000,- rate per month). So in the end I was the only one staying for 4 years in that place.

Nah. Its reality in Sydney. People are charging $250 for basically a room in areas closer to main city :/.Mine includes electricity and water.Average price of rental accomodation (non housing) is around $300+ nowadays so im a bit lucky.
Shitty, and so was the second one, and the third, and... fuck it, they were all shitty until I graduated and got my career launched.

oh. im aware of the prices. i live in sydney atm. its just that 250 is either in city or a beach house room. 200 bucks should give you 10 min from city by bus/train room. so just wondering where do you live if i may ask :)
