I don't exactly hate Finnish beers, I just find most of the big volume-sellers extremely bland and characterless.
Crowned: Some Finnish beer is absolute sewage, I sadly admit, but most brands I like. You might not find fruity aromae or a fine, nutty aftertaste, but I tell you, it is honest, working, drinkable beer. I know, I've tried. A lot.
In fact, I'm going to go open one right away, I suppose it is cool enough now. If you're speaking of the pale lager, it's mostly trash. I once participated in a beer club study where we were asked to blind-taste Finnish lagers and rank them; our opinions were fairly consistent, and it turned out that the only ones worth anyone's time were, in no particular order, Pirkka III (the short can), Pirkka Lager (the tall can, actually Dutch-made, so doesn't count), Karhu, Lapin Kulta, and, to some extent, Olvi. Admittedly, we did not try to find out which one would be best for the most common use of the stuff i.e. getting hammered.
Thankfully, all is not lost. There are numerous smaller breweries that produce decent, good, great and even excellent beers; I seriously recommend you give them a shot. Bleeding expensive, though, so with my budget things like the X-Porter are mostly reserved for special occasions. For more casual consumption of non-lager Finnish beer, only one example springs to mind; Sinebrychoff's Porter. It's too complex for its own good, but you get quite a nice beer for your money. It was even voted beer of the year in 2011 or so, and I think I can see why.
The people are stupid, ugly and don't wash.

Actually that's a very common saying in Germany, Arnie just suggested it would fit into the movie. ;)

If you can't find any home breweries near you, try to find smaller companies.
Never expect quality beer from big companies, unless they are German.

Bacon.
I only mention it because that goes totally against all of the health post and as somoene who briefly lost his health I still worship bacon. I guess I'm contradicting myself.

I'd say Finnish beer is a really working-class beer, it is not fine, but it contains alcohol and it's taste resembles that of beer (well, sort of).
I wouldn't believe Finnish beers ever had any real taste in finesse to them. People drink them to get drunk, just like I am now. But I must say I'm quite happy right now.
I need to say I don't recommend alcohol to anyone still.
Without self-elation, I can say finding the correct dosage is a thing of luck or tremendous skill. Tonight I found it upon the sheer limit of my drinking material, which was not large, and totally up to luck. Not all times have I been this lucky with it.
I also need to say I'm sorry for the offensive post I made, I continued the beer conflcit when it could have ended there. I am in the downslope, so this is quite apparent to me. I know finnish beer really isn't that good, but believing myself a man of my nation, I felt like rising up to the fight like a true barbarian. I am sorry and willing to let the case rest.
