Hi everyone,
I LOVE Elder Scrolls games, so I cant wait until Skyrim comes out. Please dont try to ruin my hopes and expectations...I know it probably wont live to my expectations but dont shatter my hopes...please :). Anyway here comes the purpose of this thread. I want to cut the time until release of Skyrim by some games and you are here now to help decide indecisive person to decide...is that even word? Anyway. Basically...here is my backlog (reposted from my old backlog thread if anyone is interested its here http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/ton_of_unplayed_games_which_one_i_should_start_first/page1 ) with some new games and some games removed.

Simply two thing I need to know, what game is it best to spend the time between now and skyrim and what are you going to do between now any skyrim...also when recommending the game keep in mind that as soon as I will get hold of skyrim I will forget to sleep, eat etc. etc. (Okay maybe not that, but if you will recommend long game I will probably not finish it)

You need to sit down and just start playing games.
Glancing over the list, you cannot go wrong with Gothic 2 (a more hardcore choice), or Just Cause 2.
The former I've finished many times, but it's a very tough game, especially if you haven't played the original.
Just Cause 2 is simply awesome. I started a new play through a couple of days ago (my first one is at 96%) and I'm really loving it. Easily sunk 100+ hours into that game. Sandbox at its best.
This should keep you busy and in the Elder Scrolls' spirit.

I was about to start testing Oblivion I heavily modded few months back but I dont know...I just guess first Elder Scrolls game to play after few months is Skyrim :) but I will later check on Arena and Daggerfall (and Morrowind)
Well, I would say, since it's only 5 days away, that you don't want to spoil things for yourself, so no fantasy games or RPG's. Maybe an FPS or strategy game? Quake, maybe. You'll want it to be something you can easily put down and pick up if you don't finish it by the time Skyrim comes out, so nothing with too deep a story. Commander Keen, maybe? The id games should work, so Wolfenstein 3D, Doom 1 and 2, Commander Keen, and Quake, would be my suggestions.

Edit: Or you could go the opposite of what I'm suggesting and go for the other Elder Scrolls games (Go for Arena).

I could finally try Gothic series...or finish JC2 :)

I like the way you think, though watching it while buggering games is no really my thing. I guess I'm not that obessive about GOGs.

...can't we do both? :D
Since it's just 5 days away, starting a "new" RPG only to stop playing it halfway through to start playing Skyrim would be a bad idea.

From your list, I'd probably go with Dungeon Keeper 2 (if you can get it to work) or any other game were there's basically no story and that will be easy to get back into once you're done with Skyrim (which could take months if you end up enjoying it).

Also : can't believe you have both Torment and Ultima Underworld in your backlog. The only kind of list these games should appear in is a compilation of you favorite games of all time. Seriously.

DOOM. You could finish both DOOM and DOOM II in a day, Final DOOM another day, and DOOM 3 a day or two.

:)

That is assuming you take rare brakes.
OK, serious post on this one then. DON'T! We all know bethesda use their initial sales as beta testers. The game won't 'really' be released until about christmas, when it will be in the steam sale. There's no reason to get a game that should be a keeper and replayer, only to be soured by the first experience. Let the mugs take the pain.

Personally since I don't much time to play games I still haven't completed Broken Sword Sleeping Dragon yet which bought about 2 or 3 weeks ago on here. I would say I am only about half way through. I also might go play Battle Isle 3 again (I have them all already Battle Isle series, same applies for a lot of GoG listed games but CD versions from times past already own). Then there is many newer games I have yet to get though and other will be picking up around same time as Skyrim, from Diciples Ressurection to DEHR aswell as HOM6, Two Worlds II etc and many more.
