Hi,

just want to open the gog.com-Homepage and suddenly my anti-virus (Avira Premium, known in germany) said the site is restricted because of malware... Just ignored it, put gog.com on the ignore list, and here I am.

But why of the sudden this message? Never had problems reaching gog.com nor with the downloads and install-routine of the games here...
false positive perhaps?

I've never had any problems.
Agreed, false positve. Most AV's like Avira, Norton and NOD throw a wobbly when you download an unknown exe. Most GOG's are old so they never bothered to add them to the safe list.

Avast doesn't flag the site.

H2IWclassic: Avast doesn't flag the site.
Some do and some don't. It's like pot-luck with AV's and what they have updated.
Nod32 does not trouble me and I have advanced heuristics activated.

Same here.
I was just wondering if anyone had this issue too. Even made a new topic before seeing your message.

Jep, exactly the same message I got...

I use Avira for a year now and always reached the site... very strange...

That's also a thing... Already downloaded some games and no message appeared...

I stopped using Avira because it kept flagging my usual hangouts and some old games.
Also, GoG downloader is blocked by Avira AntiVir WebGuard module. If I manually disable this module the downloader works just fine.
This happened to me before the site was blacklisted so I don't think these are related.
If you're going for a free AV, get MSE. It gets better and better. :)

It is not free. It is the paid premium version. I'm using Avira for two years now and never had any issues until now.

You might wanna contact Avira to sort out this.
Could have something to do with the recent site update. A bit of new code or whatever that Avira doesn't like.

lukipela: Except it hates the fact that my copy of windows is not legit and is going to stop working in 30 days.

It does not recognize corp versions of it i guess.
Security Essentials requires a valid Windows license in order to install. It won't install on the Enterprise version because it is only free for home users and small businesses.

Larger businesses need to pay for the corporate equivalent Microsoft Forefront (same engine and definitions, different interface). Large-scale businesses are the only ones that are meant to be using Enterprise versions in production environments.
