I hereby propose this contest, for those who wish to attempt it!
In the past week, I have received three -- count 'em, THREE -- free GOGs from the great users of this site. So what way to give something back than a little contest? I must warn you, though, it might not be an easy one.
Here's how this is gonna work. I have 39 GOG games, so up to 39 people can enter this contest. In your post for competition, you must give me the name of a GOG I own, and the location it occupies on my shelf. The first person who is right will receive that game, whatever game it may be, as their winning prize.
Here's where it gets harder, though. If someone has already guessed a shelf location, then that location cannot be used by any other contestant. Repeat guesses of games are fine, but each shelf location can only be used once, though each entrant is allowed up to two attempts at winning (both must be different shelf locations).
Now, to ease this up a bit, I'll provide a few clues.
--I have 39 games total (as stated above.)
--Of those games, I have all but one of the titles provided free by the site. You are free to guess these titles, but I will not be gifting them to you even if you are right :P
--I'm using the bookshelf format for listing, so assume numbering goes from left to right, top to bottom.
--No, they are not in alphabetical order.
I'll check this thread periodically, and each time that all 39 locations have been guessed without a winner I will provide four more clues, ranging from game status confirmation (owned or not) to silly clues about where games on the shelf lie in relation to one another. And NO, I will not change the order just to keep someone from winning.
Browsing the site you can fine plenty of clues as to what games possibly lay on the shelf, if not outright obvious inclusions based on my posting history.
And you know what? I'll make this even MORE interesting. We'll start with TWO games to give away -- the one guessed correctly, plus another 5.99 GoG of the winner's choice. However, if the competition goes more than three 'rounds' without a winner, the prize will be lowered to just the game guessed. If it goes more than five, then I will change the premise of the competition, at which time the game total will be reset to 2 and things will start over.
Sound good? If anyone needs more information, let me know. If the competition is won prior to noon tomorrow, games will not be gifted until some time tomorrow afternoon my time, since I'll have to wait until I've cashed my check to be able to buy them.
Now, off with you!
