Seems a bit egotistical to be asking for myself here something that can't really be scaled to others (never mind that I have a strange sense of deja vu that I've asked this before), and also something that doesn't really involve GOG or the games it has, but I want to branch out the games I would play...
So I'm basically looking for recommendations of stuff to keep an eye out on when they dip below my buying threshold.

What I'm looking for is AAA (or at least not indie) games at least 2-3 years old (i.e. the point they get cheap in sales, but not too old, because I've got gog for that) games that I have not played. I realised a thing with my buying pattern that I want to change a bit..if I AM going to buy a game, it should be one that I have never played before (instead of buying only for nostalgia, or to keep something I already obtained and completed through...err...other means).

I'm mostly looking for Steam stuff, because gog doesn't really have AAA games younger than a couple years ago, and I can get indie games directly, or through here, or through humble bundle, and since I'm already dealing with Steam, I'd rather not have to deal with double layers of DRM or DRM from other distribution services (uplay or origin) unless the games are REALLY worth it.

So what games have I played/own already (and what sort of AAA games do I tend towards)?
If you can be bothered to go through this, try, although it is not complete, otherwise:
All the Elder Scrolls, all the Fallouts, all the Hitman games, all the Max Paynes, all the Thief games, all Half-Life, all the Telltale stuff, both Mass Effect 1 and 3, Darksiders 1, all the Civs (except the expansions to V), Walking Dead Season 1, all the Bioshocks except 2, all the Batman: Arkham games except Origin, all the Saints Rows games except 4, XCOM Enemy Unknown (but not Within), Borderlands 1 and 2, both Two Worlds, Deus Ex 1 and HR, all the GTAs up to and including San Andreas, Spec Ops: The Line, Alan Wake, Dragon Age: Origins, Kingdoms of Amalur, Dishonoured (but not the DLC, which I hear is good), Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, Sleeping Dogs, Prototype (which I got in the summer sale using this same criteria), Saboteur, Assassin's Creed 1 and LA Noir.

Thanks in advance for indulging me.

Dishonored is currently on a steam sale and it is a fantastic AAA game from 2012.It has an interesting world and the gameplay is really fun offering both the kind of challenge and freedom that quite a few AAA games lack.

Gah...I knew I had missed some. I've played Dishonoured, and liked it enough too. Added it to my list so as to remove confusion.
Lord of the Rings: War in the North was one of the AAA PC games that I enjoyed and was released 3 years ago.

How about Sleeping Dogs then.Another game from 2012 which at first glance can look like as just another GTA clone but it actually does some things better then the last few GTA games.

Civilization IV. You've played V, now play it right. Also, look up the Fall From Heaven II mod for the game, if you like Tolkeinesque fantasy settings- one of the most complete and ambitious mods I've ever seen for a game.

Also, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is a really solid action game, I wrote a full review of it here: http://videogamegeek.com/thread/1240828/
You got mass effect 1 and 3. You really need 2 if you liked them. Assassins Creed 3 was my favorite in that series but 2 is worth it for the setting alone!!! You may want to check up on the STALKER games.
Darksiders 2.

I actually already own it from somewhere (a bundle?), but never tried it. I guess I always assumed it was just another MOBA or something.

Hahaha...another game I already own but forgot to mention. I actually was getting a bit bored of it by the time it was nearly completed, It did have some interesting melee mechanics, though.

I own Civ IV, but I don't think I've given it more than a cursory look, everyone always tells me that Civ V with Brave New World is way better. Castlevania has also mostly flown under my radar (I think Yahtzee did a mixed to negative review of it?).

I played Mass Effect 3 after 1, and got annoyed with one part where you had to have played 2 to get the best outcome, and then I left the game. Is it significantly different, gameplay-wise, from 1 and 3? Also, I've had my eye on Assassin's Creed 2 for a while (I thought 3 was generally considered worse than 2?). Either way, uplay has me a bit hesitant as far as the Assassin's Creed games go. I've got my eye on the STALKER games as well, which would you recommend? Clear Skies was in a bundle a while back, but I didn't get it, because I heard it was the weakest in the series.

F1ach: Darksiders 2.
I've played 1 (not finished it yet, though, got a bit bored somewhere near the last quarter)...is it significantly different from that? Better?

Thanks for the suggestions so far!

Alpha Protocol.
Alpha Protocol. It is from 2010 I believe.
Right now it is 50% off on Steam ($7.50).

An outstanding third-person espionage game by Obsidian.
It has some similarities to Deus Ex, but in a modern setting. You gain XP that you can spend to buy skills - some are passive (like improved accuracy,) and some are active (like invisibility.) You can go through the game stealthily, or shooting everything. There are lots of choices with different consequences, and there is a big emphasis on conversations.

Plus, it is DRM-free. Just launch APGame.exe in the game's directory.

edit - Dammit! Ninja'd!

There is indeed a Lord of the Rings MOBA. War in the North, though, is a 3rd person hack and slash game.

Alpha Protocol is fun despite some rough edges.

Also Metal Gear Rising, and Valkyria Chronicles (well it's older but was just ported over to the pc)

Not sure I can help you much, only AAA I've played in recent memory is with the Assassin's Creed series. Best of luck though.
Lots of Alpha Protocolling! I'll keep my eye on that, then, thanks! A bit worried how ever review I find of it is in a format like "It has rough edges, but...", though.

Someone else also recommended one. I played Assassin's Creed 1 a while back, but despite the possibly interesting story, I never finished it...I got tired of having to crawl around near guards at a mind-numblingly slow pace, or waste 10 minutes escaping them every time. I heard 2 was better, but then someone else says 3, and I hear Black Flags is good too, but I doubt I'll get as good a sale deal on that as I would on the older ones. Add to that the problem that any Assassin's Creed after 1 (available here) has the problem of having to deal with uplay.
