AlKim: I was actually thinking of doing something similar when I'm in the market for a new office chair. You can get used ones for next to nothing, and second-hand bucket seats for a couple of dozen to around a thousand euros depending on what you're willing to settle with (a budget of about 200€ would do, I think). Combine the two and hey presto, comfiest chair ever. You'd probably want to implement some kind of swivelling armrests as well, which might be tricky but probably doable.
Yeah, I'd be happy with a crappy beaten up used seat out of a Camry or something. Anything is more comfortable than my current pathetic excuse of a setup hehe. I saw a pair of bucket seats in our local classifieds for $60 not long ago and I'm told they're not that hard to find cheap as long as you're not looking for something brand new or fancy. Utilitarian is fine with me. It'd actually double as a good seat to play guitar in as well, although I'd likely want to rig up an adjustment to raise it to a guitar friendly height. :) That plus a wooden base, some angle iron or similar hardware, possibly some adjustability, swiveling stands to hold gear that are also easily removable, etc. and also cable management.
Oh crap, it never occurred to me until now... I wonder how many and which racing/driving sims might support the NaturalPoint TrackIR head trackers? Shit, that would be awesome. I'll have to plop over to their website and see if they list any.
Holy CRAP!

Woohoo, seems like almost every driving/racing game supports this thing! I'll finally get to get some REAL use out of it now! :) I've only used it with FSX and ArmA games to date, but am kind of blown away by how many car sims claim some form of support there.
For those of you who like racing sims and have never used a TrackIR before, I can return the favour to you and give extreme high recommendations to buy one. It is a mind blowing experience at least in the flight sims and ArmA so far. Totally a game changer.
This is going to be exciting!
