Honestly, I'd like the newer games to be on a sister site.

I'm not running the show though so I'd like to see newer games that aren't available DRM-free already. I'd like to be able to buy Fallout: New Vegas for example. I don't know, there's a lot of newer games I'd like to be able purchase since I haven't bought any mainstream PC games in almost five years. I just have this bad feeling that the older games are going to be released without much work done to them to fix bugs or make them compatible from now on.

Then they'll have to segregate games into old and new, and move the games over to GOG once it's old enough... That's just pointless. Also, why would creating a sister site mean that they'll fix bugs or make games compatible?(Assuming that they stop doing so, which is just unlikely.) They'll probably have the same team maintaining both sites, since the current team is handling the tasks well enough.

Muscab: I'm a bit doubt about this especially Torchlight 2. As far as I concern, if the game is about to be released on gog, it has to be drm free in which I doubt that this can happen in any of these games. Though it is your request.
Actually these are more or less just games I'd like to see. Not saying they'd end up here.

TParis: The boxed version of Torchlight 1 published in Germany by JoWood came without any DRM. Funny thing is that the text on the box claimed that a internet connection is required to activate the game - which wasn't true.
All boxed versions of the game (as far as I know) are DRM free. I have hope for T2 being DRM free as well. I absolutely love Torchwood, I'm looking forward to 2 hitting

I think Torchlight 2 is the most likely candidate out of them as Runic is less obsessive about DRM. Mass Effect 1, while unlikely, is also not únthinkable as it is getting on a bit now. Don't think LA Noire will be coming any time soon though.

I'm glad I'm not going completely mad. When I opened the box a year ago I couldn't find a serial code and I was a bit pissed. I then wondered if the internet connection was to check the date, but I've installed and run it fine with no internet connection.

What a way to needlessly kill sales.

I'll have to wait and see what tomorrow brings. I hope there's some way to sort out the games though. What worries me is that sales might shift to the new games which might convince them to focus on those games. If that happens and they just release old games like other digital distributors without putting any work into them, I might as well have the abandonware version. I'm probably wrong about this but it is something that worries me.

Might & Magic Heroes VI.

I love the HOMM series, but I absolutely refuse to get this one because of the hateful DRM. Some thinks the DRM is not THAT bad, but I absolutely don't want anything to do with Ubisoft and their garbage DRMs anymore. If Ubisoft want my support, then they better treat me like a customer instead of a criminal.

Paradox's grand strategies (Europa Universalis, Hearts of Iron, Victoria, all that good shit). It should be doable too, since Paradox sells their games DRM-free.

I think Steamworks games is out of the question. Maybe GOG will bring newer games from indie, small or obscure developer. So, i think it not gonna be games that in the same line with CoD or Skyrim. Maybe Arma II and Arma III, because GOG already have the previous installments on their catalogue.

I, on the other hand, want everything from Steam to here, starting from Half-life. Portal can be skipped though, I got it free and completed it already.

I believe you're probably right.

I can't see the likes of EA allowing their recent games to be sold DRM free, especially as they are now tying everything to Origin. The same probably goes for Ubisoft, Blizzard, and others who are running their own online activation/play servers. I highly doubt we would see recent Rockstar games on GOG either. As for Valve, well, the natural platform for their games is Steam.

So the number and types of recent games available on GOG will probably be quite restricted. The best we can hope for from such publishers is some of their back catalogues. Lucasarts seems to be focusing largely on console game development these days - but I think they at least should allow their older PC games to be sold via GOG. As for other publishers, it's anyone's guess. Those that are currently using Steamworks would probably be less likely to sell via GOG - DRM-free is a hard sell.

And I guess that leaves those developers who have more autonomy over their projects as likely candidates, ie, mostly indies.
