AstralWanderer: He asked me to cancel my pledge and, given his increasing hostility, I was happy to oblige. I can only suggest that others exercise caution in dealing with him.
Thanks for the warning, I'll keep that in mind. And give a look at Fleetcomm comments before I jumped in...

hedwards: KS is definitely addictive though.
Yep. So much great concept or already started projects.
And it keeps coming... Dead State will soon launch according to this GameBanshee's news.
Zombies + RPG = What else ? :D
New update on Lodestar:

Yes, I really like the idea and the sound of the project ;)
Lilly Looking Through: An animated adventure game.

Looks like a nice game (with an Amanita vibe and a nifty twist) made by some nice (and experienced) people with a (relatively) modest goal.
The designer/programmer worked as a designer at Cyan on Myst III and Uru, particularly "responsible for creating the layout and all the puzzles for the Amateria age". I have fond memories of that one.

There's a demo available for Windows, Mac and Linux:

Thanks for this, will check it out.

On a side note, there seems to be no end to the Zombie themed games.

hedwards: It's a shame this isn't going to be settled before the KS campaign is over.

AstralWanderer: Al Lowe has posted a clarification on this - see Al Lowe and Sam Suede. To quote:

"I have no intention of suing Wisecrack, which has my permission to use my name and likeness regarding my involvement with Sam Suede....when I left the project the game’s design was nearly complete but the text, where the humor lies, was barely started. I [am] not involved in any way with Wisecrack’s current production of Sam Suede."

Steve Ince (one of the writers involved with the Sam Suede project) has done an article on how he sees the situation here.

I'm not backing this project myself (it's not to my taste, just as the LSL project wasn't - so go burn me at the stake...) but looks as if Paul Trowe has jumped the gun and is trying to backpedal. Al's lack of involvement needs to be highlighted by Wisecrack (almost typed Widecrack there...) and they're going to have to change that $10,000 pledge reward, but there doesn't appear to be grounds for a project takedown based on the info currently available.
I do wonder why they keep letting Paul talk in an official capacity.

Ground Branch - I'll let the kickstarter page do the explanation, but it's a tactical shooter project by a former Red Storm developer, already in development since 2007 or so.

""There are a lot of people that loved Red Storm Entertainment’s original Rainbow Six, Rogue Spear and Ghost Recon but the latest incarnations of those titles just aren’t what they want. To me, Ground Branch is for those people." -John Sonedecker, Founder BlackFoot Studios, LLC and former original member of Red Storm Entertainment.

We want to release the game that we've all wanted to play for over a decade. We want to bring back classic tactical shooters."

The game already has a working alpha version (the videos are fomr that) and a pretty clear set of features and goals. I've been following it since it's inception and it's promsing, IMO. :)

Is this actually a multiplayer only game?. Can't seem to find any info...

From the KS comments:

"BlackFoot Studios about 15 hours ago
The base game is MP only, but we will have some co-op based game types. We will be going into a little detail on those in an update here. So even if we don't hit that stretch goal, you will still have plenty of fun with Ground Branch."

And the description says: "The initial release of Ground Branch will be a robust and unique multiplayer experience that focuses mainly on team-based and adversarial game types."

So, yeah MP only at the start, with SP coming later down the road. But the KS itself is for the initial MP part, if I understand it right.

Shucks. I was going to lay my money down on this, but seeing as to how it's going to be MP only, I'm immediately turned off. I know Rogue Spear had a pretty loyal multiplayer following, but still, I played the old R6 games for their single-player, and never for their multi.

Nonetheless I'm adding it.

Same here, but I can understand them - it's a pretty big undertaking, and making the initial release MP only is a way of lowering costs (less AI programming, no campaign design, less voice recording, etc), and generating income for the next step.
I discovered this game a few days ago and they have just launched a kickstarter campaign for it.

It's called The Repopulation and it's going to be a sandbox mmo.

They have a website too: http://www.therepopulation.com/

Looks nice. A bit too ambitious, but nice nonetheless. Will add later.
The Curse of Shadow House

Another 'little guy' adventure game - one man "homage to old school adventure games in the likes of Shadowgate, The 7th Guest, and Maniac Mansion" (unfortunately only for mobiles).

Seems like a nice guy - he's giving the first 25 backers free copies of the game even if funding is unsuccessful. Some neat handcrafted collectibles in the rewards, and from $15 you get, among other things, "the future two adventures in the trilogy".

5 days left, 3.5k to go.
