orcishgamer: How on Earth can they make that game on 150k? Even if it were funded I have serious doubts, despite their reassurances...
From their FAQ:
$150K doesn't enough for this kind of a game - why is this all you're asking for?
We aren't greedy and didn't want to ask for more than we need. We're passionate about this project and are throwing our own money into this. We, being Garry (project leader, coder, etc.) and Melissa Gaber (producer) are taking no salary of any kind for this game, no matter how many pledges come in from Kickstarter.
Our real operating budget is in line with what can reasonably be produced, and will allow for a high quality game with real voice talent, sound effects, AAA art and amazing depth of gameplay, but we can't get there without you.
With that said, if the pledges exceed what we're asking for, the extra funding will go straight back into the game. Better levels, more action, better and more art assets. Other platforms. A bigger, more wider released, better game.
spindown: Starlight Inception is really turning out to be a nailbiter. 90% funded with less than three hours to go. I don't think they're going to make it, but I've been wrong before.
hedwards: I don't either which is why I'm pledging in on it. I was going to wait for the game to be released before buying a copy, but if they don't make their goal I probably won't be able to do that. And I'm a real fan of the genre.
Even if it does make it's goal barely there's still the chance that it will fail when some of the pledges don't go through.
Holy crap, the game is 95% funded now, with 50 minutes to go. They only need another $7,000.
