Darkforge posted an update about Nekro too. It has pre alpha gameplay video that's really worth checking out. Plus concept art of the Templar and Nekro's Tower.

Slow and steady though. I'd like them to make it, this one looks interesting, reminds me of sacrifice a bit, for some reason.

Nekro is getting a negative reaction on twitter. The major game sites are not looking kindly on people spamming them with emails about the project.

On one hand I can understand them, it's not nice being spammed full stop.....but on the other hand I don't think it's entirely fair to call it spam. The intentions of the Nekro funders are good, they want to see this game they're behind get funded. Nobody is out to annoy anybody intentionally.

It's all very uncomfortable.

Heh. You should have seen what happened when I posted on the RPS forums about the Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective KS project.

I just got the Nekro update too but I didn't know they're getting a negative reaction on Twitter. I agree with you, it will look like shameless advertising, yet I also think it's justified. Indie developers rely on the press to spread the word, because word of mouth is accelerated when news is released on high-profile sites. Some get lucky (FTL), some don't (Dark Meridian). It's a very Darwinian process, except it's less on the strengths of the projects and on sheer luck, and it's times like these when I think social media is the epitome of ostentation, where blind favouritism and hot news take precedence over product quality.

Nekro looks good. its a game that should be funded. i think it is suffering a bit from being around at the same time as so many other great projects...

Anybody that's interested, Shadow Run has a new $50 reward level that's all digital. Shadowrun is looking for $1.5m to add another city.

And Leisure Suit Larry has a new "the girls of Leisure Suit Larry" set of wallpapers at $5. LSL is looking for another $60k to complete the game, that's fairly good, only about $6k per day to hit the goal.
