"Pencil Test Studios presents a new Adventure Game made of Clay. From Doug TenNapel and the creators of The Neverhood."

Here's a thread to boot.
Let's hope they 'll make it. I'm so backing this.

You mean the RPG graveyard crowd - this being a game where most players die, frequently....

charbon: I have to admit I really don't understand what the big deal is. Care to explain ? I'm serious here, not judging or anything, I just don't get why does it make you guys not want to pledge just because some people pay more and thus will, rightfully, get more. I would understand if it was an online game, where bonus items might give an edge over people who do not have these items, but this is not the case here, Darkwood being an single player game. If they were to make a stupidly expensive tier with an exclusive item, would you again not pledge because the $10 tier won't grant you this item ?
I would feel bad that while I get this awesome item most other people will be missing out. I want everyone to enjoy the same game that I am. I'm shelling out my hard earned money here and I want the devs to make best game that's possible, for everyone. I don't want this money to be spent on making exclusive content for a small number of people, even if I'm one of them.

The same idea applies to a much lesser degree to exclusive pre-order bonuses.

And this is why I never played Call of Cthulhu without beer and pretzels. Except when we were out of pretzels.

That's one of the things I love about it. In most RPGs, the players are supposed to be heroes but end up acting like cowards because they're so worried about protecting their characters. In CoC, they know they're gonna die, so they stop worrying about every freaking step they take and just have fun roleplaying.

Do beer and pretzels provide resurrection powers? Or does the beer provide pre-emptive SAN loss before the beasties do? :)

Dying a lot is not conducive to horror.
A Lovecraft RPG should only have one stat: Sanity. Now roll to see how you die :)
Don't remember if it's been mentioned, but BLOOD KISS is a movie by script writer Michael Reaves, who has Parkinson, and can't speak and can hardly type. It will star Neil Gaiman (which might end up badly, I don't think he has acted before, but it's still interesting, and hey, it's Gaiman!) and Amber Benson.

It's already funded (just barely), but that's just for a basic garage movie, and it would be nice if this movie could be more than that, so check it out. Ends 14th of June.
Can someone explain to me the "thanks on Twitter/Facebook" rewards? What is their point exactly?

"Did I tell you about the time I was drinking in the same bar as Sean Connery? Really nice man, he even agreed to have a picture taken with me. Here's the picture. Ain't you jealous?"

More or less the above, in another medium, and with a lesser known "celebrity".

*rolls dice*

"A credit card bill arrives, with numerous entries all starting 'Kickstarter' - you realise that the total won't allow you to cover food and drink for the next month, let alone rent so you find yourself sleeping rough. During that time, a jealous Shoggoth takes exception to your Kickstarter exclusives and stomps on you..."
6 Hours to go for anyone wanting to pledge for Stonehearth, it just reached it's 750k Post Release Stretch Goal (with paypal funding included) :)

Not bad considering they were asking for 120k :p
