Stiler: The Big blue needs some help (press, word of mouth).

It launched last week and has a goal of 665k, but seems stalled at 44k:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/annunziata/the-next-ecco-the-dolphin-adventure-game

It's an underwater adventure game from the Ecco the dolphin creator (he's been trying for years to make a new Ecco game but sega won't greenlight one, and won't let him have the IP either).

He's also being joined by Spencer Nielson (who did the music for Ecco among many other classic games, like "Sonic Boom" from Sonic the Hedgehog games).

I LOOOOOOOOOVED Ecco The Dolphin back in the day and we get hardly ANY underwater adventure games, let alone one where you can control dolphins, sharks, whales, etc.

Game sounds great from the info they've given and I really really want to see it succeed.

gandalf.nho: I was interested because I played the Ecco games but first was the MMO talk and that collectible cards who turns all the tiers in physical ones and you must pledge 5000 to get all the exclusive ones. If they reformule the project, scrapping this card idea, they will have more chance
I think you may have misunderstood it.

The cards do not mean that the animals you won't get unless you have them.

ALL The animals are in the base game, and you simply have to FIND them and have a chance to recruit them. Some are extremely rare, etc.

These cards are merely a way to get quick-access to them without having to find them within the game world, they are not required in any way shape or form to get access to the creatures in game.

The codes merely let you by-pass finding them in game and have access to them by inputing the code on the card (which can then be put back on the card and traded/given to someone else).

Read the description of some cards in the tiers, they are indicated as "exclusive to backers", the cheapest of these ones is in the $100 tier (black dolphin) and the more expensive one in $5000 tier (glass dolphin)
There's a Pathfinder sourcebook based on Aden, the steam-fantasy setting of Thunderscape:

Shovel Knights has just got the person who did all the sounds, including music for Mega Man now working on their project.
Crazy old bastard (who may be my father, though I do try to deny any resemblance) trying to get his second book published:
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1646930491/martas-pod

His first book he did self publishing entirely out of pocket, including a professional editor (which ain't cheap).. he can't afford to do that again with the 2nd, which is twice as long as the first. The 2nd book (Marta's Pod) is completely written and revised, just awaiting an editor.

His writing is Science Fiction, with a Christian bent to it.. but tends more towards "christian values in a real world" as opposed to what most Christian Fiction is (Preachy dreck full of perfect Christians who never do anything wrong).

The beard...

I think that he should have done a promotion of the first book. It's kind of difficult to do now, with the first book being part of the rewards. Selling it for a low price alongside a KIckstarter (or giving it up front to anyone who pledged) might have won him some more fans who might have put some money towards a sequel.

Brilliant, I've always wanted a Redwall inspired game! :D
The graphics are brilliant for a game from one person, especially their first game! His animation experience really shows in it.
This game is also fixed funding, meaning the game won't take your money if it fails, for people who are iffy about that. Just saying cause I badly want to see it succeed.

Wow! Those are truly the best looking dice I've ever seen. I like dice a lot, but looking at the pledge tiers on this project helped convince me that I'm not a dice fetishist.
We need an awesome scifi RPG

Would "dice voyeur" be a better term then? :)

I'm tempted by some of them myself, but the numbers on some of the more "patterned" dice look as if they'd be hard to read. Maybe inked numbers will come in as a stretch goal, but it's still nice to see someone pushing the polyhedral envelope...
J.D. & The Chasers Kickstarter

Do you remember a time when country music didn't suck?

Do you remember a time when black people made good music?

Or maybe like me you were born after that mythical age but have learned of it bit by bit here and there and wondered what the hell happened. :-P

The point is that these these guys have made some great sounding blues and honky-tonk covers and want to make a new album full of such sonic goodness.

Only 2 backers and $50 of a $2000 goal with 4 days to go. Looking grim... but hey, you never know, right? Check it out! Pledging $5 gets you a digital download of the album if the project is successful.

nijuu: We need an awesome scifi RPG
According to their last update Traveller 5th Edition was starting to ship books out so if you signed up for that, you shouldn't have long to wait. :) Otherwise, Kalijor above may be worth a look (a fantasy/scifi hybrid).

The biggie for RPG fans may be Shadowlands given they now have Ed Greenwood (creator of D&D's Forgotten Realms setting) on their team. Given their progress so far (funded within 3 days) they'll probably get through a fair few stretch goals also.

As an aside, RockPaperShotgun did a hands-on with Divinity Original Sin - Larian's Kickstarter is slightly different in that the basic game is largely done, but they want to add a second design team to expand the gameworld. It's looking interesting and the mod tools will be included with the basic game, rather than offered as a stretch goal (though they have some cool goals also).
