RayRay13000: No, this game was made much earlier for Xbox Live Arcade (Xbox 360) and Playstation Network (PS3). A PC port was planned but due to issues with the publisher (Autumn Games) and the previous development team (Reverge Labs) it was unofficially delayed for god knows when. The original development team is struggling to keep up with the plans they had for this game, they got themselves running under a new name (Lab Zero Games) and are trying to get their footing back. That's pretty much what's going on with this game currently (as far as I remember).

As far as I remember this project wasn't funded from Kickstarter or any other crowd-sourced website.

nijuu: I suppose a relevant question is, what happens if the PC port is delayed outside the 3 month 'free release period for DLC'???
I really don't know. They announced from their official website that their publisher has arranged an agreement with Marvelous AQL to do a port for the PC, offering it for sale on Gamersgate, Origin, Steam, etc. As of right now their hoping to get it released in mid-2013. That's all I can find out on the PC port as of right now.

Red_Avatar: I think Kickstarter has shown us clearly that almost no company can meet its deadlines and vastly underestimates how much time a project takes which is rather discouraging since a game's budget is directly tied to the time it takes to complete.

So far, every game in production (bar one) which I backed, has had its release date moved forward with several months to even over a year. Were these developers really being optimistic or did they just lie about the date so people would be more eager to shell out money? Personally, some of those dates worried me since they smelled like rushed games.

McDon: It is very difficult exactly how much days of work will be needed in a project beforehand and especially after when you think about unforeseen problems both with the game and with the team. Also crowdfunding is still a pretty new concept and most devs aren't used to it. The question is whether you want a rushed game on time or polished game delayed.

Also, kickstarters tend to be indie projects and tend to be more carefree and non-corporate with stuff like that :P
They aren't putting money into project managers - clearly!
Skullgirls seems interesting.

PixelBoy: In most cases this can be traced to stretch goals which got funded.
Right. A lot of projects add more content and even more mechanics, which will always push back the original goal (which assumes just the basic goal getting funded).

Another reason which happens more for very small teams (or individuals) is life coming in the way. Babies, job changes, illnesses, members having to travel for extended periods, all these things can have a significant effect on development.

Then again there's the feedback. One of the things Kickstarter is good for is getting feedback, and this can result in more fixes and changes. This can make the released game stronger, but it's usually not taken into account in the developer's vision of the game.
New projects:

Defenders of Suntoria: Dark Sun Rising, fantasy tower defense with RPG elements

The graphics on both of these aren't really that good imho even budget wise standards :/

I've had a couple of projects deliver bang on time (Road to Enlightenment and The New Science) with a few others being slightly delayed (, largely thanks to customs though, and [url=http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/coolminiornot/sedition-wars-battle-for-alabaster]Sedition Wars).

PC games do seem to have had more holdups ( is the only "finished" one I've seen to date while [url=http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/69341191/xenonauts]Xenonauts, , [url=http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1829438086/ring-runner-flight-of-the-sages]Ring Runner, The Dead Linger and Expeditions Conquistador have delivered betas). I guess that is due to the more flexible nature of games projects - they can promise more in the way of stretch goals but pay for that with extra development time.

Another aspect is that Kickstarter is about new companies and new ideas - anything physical will require them to learn about mass production, transportation, packaging, customs, safety and recycling (especially when exporting to the European Union due to ROHS rules). is one example of this (LED models seem to be mostly done but Nixie tube versions look to be in development still) as was [url=http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1047510073/remee-the-rem-enhancing-lucid-dreaming-mask]Remee ("What, we have to wait for a 100,000 LED order to be fulfilled?").

Defenders' seems reasonable (in Torchlight's category) but both seem to belong to the school of female imagery. D&D may have pioneered the idea of mages having to forgo armour, but forgoing underclothes as well?

I think some are meant meant to show transition in the artwork?
Basically before/after pledging...cause the difference in some pictures is staggering.
