spindown: Star Citizen, the new space simulator by Chris Roberts. http://robertsspaceindustries.com/
Chris Roberts is doing a Kickstarter without Kickstarter !

2 things bug me :
* They're using Paypal instead of Amazon, so every pledge is withdrawn immediately. Whether or not they reach their goal ( I think it was $200.000 but the site has gone offline too fast, I'm not sure. The backup site doesn't display the total pledges amount ) they get our money.
* each tier comes with a "Citizen card" which require $5 for international shipping, and you can't refuse it.

Anyway it's Chris Roberts (!) with an interesting concept : a single player game ala Wing Commander ( Squadron 42 ) within a sort of MMO ala Freelancer where AI are replaced by other players. In-game footage looks awesome.

An it's Chris Roberts !

It's $2,000,000 actually. Yes, $2 million.
Oh, I missed a 0 :D
Thanks spindown.
Both look good. I threw just a bit of money at Divine Space. As for AAIMIE, I think that the rewards and pricing structure stand in the way of its success.
The description "Immersive, beautiful space adventure in a hard sci-fi genre. " was yummy.
I was almost hooked up until I read MMO. :( No, thanks.

It's not an going to be an MMO. They're planning an MMO version for later.

Yeah I read the page and I got the impression that their ultimate goal is MMO, so I guess they'll provide some 4-hours long SP space shooter to prepare ground for it. The last thing this industry lacks are multiplayer games, be it a pure MMO or SP infected with MP elements. Publishers are hot for F2P games, I don't see a need for KS project.
I also didn't manage to find their portfolio. EDIT: My mistake, it's there; mainly iPhone or browser games.

PS. No ill meant, the project simply convinced me that I'm not their target group.

Yeah, it sounds a bit overambitious to create a great SP title and then a MMO version on top of it. Also, the first version will apparently be iOS only. And the "Warning: SUPER EXCLUSIVE" stuff on some of the reward levels sounds like a silly marketing pitch. The concept art looks awesome, but the details of this project are underwhelming.

gandalf.nho: 2 new projects: An Old-School RPG With A Modern Feel: AAIMIE
That doesn't look like Android game I would pay $15 for.

That doesn't look like anything I would pay money for. I have a pretty high tolerance for graphical abstraction, but AAIMIE sure is pushing it.

I wrote a message to the project creator and he replied and later made an update of it, though the update kind of botches the message he managed to get across in his response to me. In particular he left this out:

"Mostly, we need money to implement a complicated and wide quest system and very smart AI, that would make the single player game very, very interesting and replayable."

I think that with this coupled with him saying "I'm big fan of good stories and deep, immersive narrative" in the update, and the "Bonus soundtrack for Star Control II fans", which suggests they're fans of that game, makes me trust that it would be something I'd enjoy.

ET3D: ...
Thank you for pointing out the update. It explains their plans a bit more clearly. I'll keep an eye on project's updates.
They should have just left the MMO aspect completely out of the presentation IMO.
