Ah, that RPG with 17 years of production...

Edit: only one digital tier? Bad start

*Reads the project page*

Well, nobody can accuse these people of excessive modesty. As for trying to use DRM as a weapon to get pledges--"You will pledge now, or when you finally come crawling over to play our game, it will have DRM on it!"--fuck that.

Rofl, WTF. 17 years of development?

Haha.

"Only a MADMAN would invest this much time and effort. I am that MADMAN! A GAME OF THIS SCOPE REQUIRES MADNESS!!!"

Guy is nuts.

Thanks for making me go back to look at this project. I closed the browser page the moment I saw the $25 minimum pledge, and if not for you guys I would have missed gems like the 1024x768 256 colour graphics.

Now that's an old school RPG.

$1381 only? What the fuck!
(wasn't a serious exclamation btw)

RPGWatch has a concentration camp tower as their logo, I wouldn't expect much from that lot.

Not even close.

lowyhong: I don't really care for a singleplayer campaign in a 4X game anyway :P
And there's a lot of people who would agree with you.
That's certainly why Ironclad didn't add SP campaign to Sins of a Solar Empire or Firaxis to Civilization.
It's "unfortunate" for players like me who love 4X and Single Player campaigns with good stories. At least we've avoided Single Player campaigns with crappy stories :D

PaulDenton: Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see this game, but even with private investors the game he tells about will cost several 10 Mio. $ at least IMHO.
Yep, it will. It's always a good thing to warn people anyway.
Still, the only thing which really frightened me in the Penny Arcade report what the reference to Peter Molyneux : we could end with the Fable of space sims :D

I ... think it's just a generic watchtower? Because, you know, their name has "watch" in it, and you watch from a watchtower, and ... uh ... is this a joke that's flying over my head?

editt: you should really, really read the quoted rpgwatch thing. This guy is a piece of work.

If you're wondering why we claim Grimoire is one of the greatest classic style fantasy roleplaying games ever created, look at this comparison with other classic RPGs and decide for yourself if Grimoire really is the largest, richest, most detailed and complex computer roleplaying game ever made.

Not sure if serious...

spindown: Star Citizen, the new space simulator by Chris Roberts. http://robertsspaceindustries.com/

ArchonPC: Chris Roberts is doing a Kickstarter without Kickstarter ! 2 things bug me : * They're using Paypal instead of Amazon, so every pledge is withdrawn immediately. Whether or not they reach their goal ( I think it was $200.000 but the site has gone offline too fast, I'm not sure. The backup site doesn't display the total pledges amount ) they get our money. * each tier comes with a "Citizen card" which require $5 for international shipping, and you can't refuse it. Anyway it's Chris Roberts (!) with an interesting concept : a single player game ala Wing Commander ( Squadron 42 ) within a sort of MMO ala Freelancer where AI are replaced by other players. In-game footage looks awesome. An it's Chris Roberts !
At least now you can tick for refund if they miss the goal.

I am exited, but I am not too exited to pledge just yet. I will be watching this one, however
HotBot -

Modern version of space harrier. I like this one. Got some sensible pricing tiers also. I fear it has given itself to short time to reach the goal... If you like a good shooter, have a look.

Now the main site is back, there's a counter and even stretch goals : 1 per million up to $5M o_O
