nijuu: Any of the 'big' or 'major' ones have their own thread ie Project Eternity. Not sure about updates for all the small ones in here though, thought would be just links to new projects? (well original plan)
avatar
PaulDenton: Yeah, that's what I thought. Just links to new projects and maybe one or two reminders along the way. Arakion, e.g., gets link nearly daily here, and I don't like to see getting this a habit for the projects, else finding interesting new stuff could get tedious.
I suppose that's true, although there's always the main list for seeing all the new KS projects in tidy form. I personally like updates being posted here, because it might interest me in a project I had ignored previously. Of course, it's a balance since we don't want to spam too much anyway. I'll stop posting much once Arakion ends in any case since the only other running project i've bought into is PE

Speaking of which: Arakion has 4 hours left and needs less than $2k to reach the next stretch goal. ;)

Dysis, is asking only 5k and already achieved more than 3k
Looks interesting, though I have no free money at the moment. Stretch goals are badly laid out, though. Kickstarted is funded at 5k, and then there're only two stretch goals at 20k and 50k. That's way too huge of a gap.

EDIT: For the 10k tier, the guy builds a robot for you. O_O

Shit looks good, but I agree with Gazoinks on the note about stretch goals.
Speaking of spamming Arakion updates: new Arakion update clarifying some additional add-ons and talking about the town-building mechanics in the game. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/lavidimus/chris-taylors-arakion/posts/323308?ref=email&show_token=e70e53cf7aa24735

Go Gazoinks, Go !! :D

Arakion's run is coming to an end. Less than 1 hour and a half, and almost $23,000 over the funding goal.
I hope this game will show up on GOG.com.

And don't blame me, that's not a post about an update :D

If it makes you feel better, Arakion is now closed, clocking in at a bit over 47.5k. Hopefully the Paypal will make the remaining 2.5k to the last stretch goal.

ET3D: I assume from reading this that you don't have experience with touch phones and tablets, and therefore your objections are based mainly on "fear of the unknown".
Assumption incorrect - no phone, but 2 touchscreen remote controls (with custom UI), 3 PDAs with proper keyboard and touchscreen (for stylus but fingers can be used too), 1 Windows UMPC with touchscreen (stylus again) and 1 media player (capacitive touchscreen). All have onscreen keyboard options and while I consider them OK-ish for small amounts of text, no way would I want to use them for significant typing or anything time-sensitive.

I think the point has been made though and don't want to go any further off-topic on this thread.

Back to the projects!

Sensible Software 1986–1999 by Read-Only Memory (Oct 17)
A history book of one of the more notable (i.e. wacky) software developers, responsible for Sensible Soccer and Cannon Fodder.
Myth & Magic Game Master's Guide and Collector's Complete (Oct 22)
One for the RPG crowd, a Myth & Magic book update.

Edit: with Arakion now funded, update-aholics may want to check out M.O.R.E.'s latest update, if only to ogle their planned 2014 calendar.

Has anyone mentioned 3089 yet? I kind of like Phr00t's games. It is interesting to see the progression he has from one to the other.

I'll be one of the paypal donaters so hopefully.

Although he said he'll do the last stretch goal anyway.

Cool. Am cautious about this though. I like 3079 but it was over too quickly. May get 3089 if it's good, but I probably won't back this.

Guys help support Dysis please! :P

An interesting game I saw recently (and backed)

Timber and Stone

"A voxel-based city building game with a heavy emphasis on combat, fortifications, and siege warfare."

"Inspiration comes from games like Caesar, Zeus, Age of Empires, Dwarf Fortress and Minecraft."

Definitely worth a look.
