SimonG: I just wanted to say "Thanks" for the thread, I just pledged to Singularity and I would never have seen it without this thread!
No problem, good job to those who managed to source out these projects too. A lot of intriguing projects in that list might have been lost in the sea of mediocrity on Kickstarter's browser page without a good eye to pick them out.

I backed The Only Living Boy and Carbon Grey. I don't collect graphic novels and comics, but I do read them. However, I'm really, really impressed by the artistic style of these two graphic novels, particularly Carbon Grey. I always knew I was a geek, but thanks to Kickstarter, I just took it to the next level :P
I'm seriously tempted by but would, at those sort of prices, be wanting a clock that can set itself using the appropriate radio signal ([url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WWVB]WWVB for the US, for the UK or [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DCF77]DCF77 for Europe) since it would then adjust for summer/daylight-saving-time changes automatically.

Another project that may be of interest to others is Nightfall Light, a first-person horror/puzzle/exploration game.
Upped my Wasteland 2 donation after hearing the new earlier. :D

I wanted to get Ramos too, but I really wish it was cheaper :(

Nightfall Light looks really good. Keeping an eye on it. The devlogs are awful though :X. It's hard to catch what the guy's saying.

That clock is pointless anyway. His whole solution is very expensive instead of simply making your mobile have an app that does the same thing. Plus, what if you set a "guide time" that you could postpone for an hour? I do that on weekends.
Added Dead Linger and Artifice to the list, removed The Only Living Boy.

Dead Linger looks good. I'm keeping an eye on this.

htown1980: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1127228691/the-humn-wallet-the-best-minimal-rfid-blocking-wal

..unless you already have a couple of bits of plastic and an elastic band...
Yeah another "solution" that doesn't make a lot of sense. I mean, think of this:
- to take out money, you have to use pressure to open the wallet and keep it open = fiddly
- you can't carry coins
- you can't easily browse through your wallet and it's made for very little content so its use is limited
- you actually carry content on the OUTSIDE which means it can get damaged more easily or get wet if your pants get wet

Honestly, there's so many downsides to this. In reality, a wallet that fits tight will hold items tightly inside anyway.
Just a reminder for everyone that FTL: Faster Than Light kickstarter project is coming to a close in less than six hours so if you want to pledge, this is your last change. They're just 6000$ away from 200 000$ or 20 (!!!) times their funding goal.
There's got to be a better way to look for projects to back lol.
'Adventure gamers' might recall the indie horror-paranormal-investigator series, Delaware St. John. Well, they're taking the 4th one to Kickstarter:
Delaware St. John 4: Asylum of The Lost

At this rate you keep bringing awesome projects to my attention, you're going to make me go bankrupt, brah xD

(I played Delaware St John 1, and thought it was great. Really fun, even if a bit too short)

Don't blame me for Your obsessive compulsive throwing money at the screen! ;)
I know the feeling though :P

Haven't played any Delaware myself, but I think they went overboard with the goal. If Sherlock is having trouble with 5 times less... wish them well in any case.

I sent the developer a message to ask about a hard copy, and incidentally he mentioned the game will not be DRM-free.

Whhaaaaa......

I'm still waiting for his reply on what DRM the game's going to be using, but whatever it is, I doubt I'll be pledging to this after all. Maybe I'll get it when it hits Gamersgate, because one of the biggest motivations for me backing Kickstarter projects is that most tend to be DRM-free. Shame.

It's hard to imagine them being able to get $280K, but I'm sure a lot of potential backers would want the game to be DRM-free. Given that people are going to assume it is, there will likely be many disappointed customers.

-edit- And, they're going to be using Big Fish Games' DRM. I am partial towards BFG; those guys have their hearts in the right place by distributing casual games. OTOH, correct me if I'm wrong, but IIRC you need an Internet connection to login, everytime you want to play. Or something like that.

I am disappointed, and I hope they change their minds. It's reasonable for an AAA publisher to impose DRM because their loyal fanbase is usually large enough to buffer the loss in sales, but for an indie game that wants collect $280K, they need to re-think this stance. It's not wise to impose DRM on a game that's pre-ordered by people who have placed good faith in you.
