So why are remakes of cartoons awesome but they can't do it with movies? MLP, Thundercats, Transformers, TMNT, everyone seems to like them (and many who grew up watching the originals).

Weird.

But also, nice to see the toy commer...I mean, awesome cartoons live on. =D

I was very nearly expecting this to turn into some kind of bondage thread with these pictures. Ah, the joys of not knowing on GOG what you'll see until you click on it.

I am enjoying a show about ponies geared toward little girls. And they actually gave them a villain that makes sense. And it's actually pretty good. Damn, am I secure in my masculinity or what.

Villains? In the first two episodes, yeah, but then it just turns into episode based antagonists, be it Gilda, Trixie, etc. Nightmare Moon is just a villain for the first 2 episodes.
EDIT: I shan't be so dickish!

Okay, so, yeah, it is a new cartoon series apparently. I watched the first episode just now, to confirm this, and... well... it was okay. Not to be a stick-in-the-mud, but I am not seeing the reason for all the hype. I can certainly see the Powerpuff Girl influence, but in my estimation it is not on the same level. But, hey, if ya like it watching it, then watch it; different strokes for different folks, as they say. :)

It is a very rare a show whose first episode is the benchmark that you should measure a whole show by.

Are you implying that the cartoon gets much better? Does it get rid of the who friendship, pony-power, and silly baby dragon motif? If not, then seriously, it just isn't for me. If you like it, then great, but I still don't get the hype. I can appreciate that it might be interesting and fun for some people, but I am just not that sort of person.

Sometimes you CAN just tell by the first episode that you aren't going to like a series. Such it was with Glee for me, when everyone I knew said it was awesome; It was like "Beverly Hills 90210: The Musical" for me (and since I don't like Beverly Hills 90210 OR Musicals, I could pretty much tell I wouldn't like any episode in the series). However, if a show has a scantily clad woman shooting/kicking/punching the shit out of people (Aeon Flux, anyone?), then I am pretty sure I am going to like it ;).

See, at least I actually sampled MLP before forming an opinion of it. ;) Sorry if the sample size isn't representative enough for you, but I really have zero urge to watch the new MLP cartoon series further. Unless.... unless there is a brooding martial-arts My Little Pony voiced by Claudia Black?! If so, I am so there! :P

those pics came from this link a few years back, what do they have to do w/ bondage?
Wait forget I asked that...just wanted to say thats me to look silly. Only know what I've learned from ebay and some gfs...MLPs are like Transformers in terms of value, and maybe even easier to sell. G1-G2 etc

"your picture of Stalin riding a Year 3 Limited Edition Starflower inside a German concentration camp was both upsetting and historically inaccurate"

Bwahahahahahahahaha

THAT is hysterical

THAT should be a (very obscure) T-Shirt.

I haven't seen them redo Biker Mice from Mars yet though :-(
Warner Brother's shop has released SWAT Kats and Pirates of Dark Water though. So hopefully if we don't get a remake, we can at least get the original again. =D

And Shout Factory has released the original Transformers entire series and the Transformers: Beast Wars.

Man, it's a good time to be a kid from the 80s.

There was a revival thing for that in 2006. Not a remake but a continuation or something.

And I missed it? Thanks for the information, I need to look again then (funny, I looked for the show not too long ago,and found nothing but the old episodes from my childhood).
