MoP: I don't care what anybody says, Jack Orlando is glorious! Have only fond memories of that game, although a lot of it is due to it's audio portion - the brilliant music and as Novotnus pointed out, the Polish voice overs (and my fondness for the genre + nostalgia, but hush).
I'll never forget Biff, his crank and the old lady in the window ;P
I remember that demo from CD-Action :) And almost-impossible price of 69 PLN back when games used to cost over 100 PLN :)

zmagnum: IMO Ultima 9. You buy that game to see how badly they ruined that series. If the crashes don't get you, the sure stupidity of the writing will. Case in point: "What's a Paladin?" quote the newly dumbfounded Avater.

TVs_Frank: What's a paladin?
I was actually thinking about Spoony's review when I wrote the quote. :)

If anyone hasn't seen his set of reviews on the Ultima series, I highly recommend it.

Well my friend, that's a Paladin.

edit: Oh oops, forgot to put my entry, while this subject is purely based on opinion, and by no means anything universal. I would probably have to say my choice for "worst game" on GOG is probably...you know what? I honestly cannot think of one. I guess it goes back to one man's trash is another man's treasure, I see value in almost every title because there are people that genuinely enjoy them. Maybe I am being a touch naive, but even something like CoD (which I realize isn't on GOG) has people that genuinely enjoy it that I see reason for it's existence. That's just my two cents though and by no means any form of universal standard by which all must think. :)

Nirth: Blood Omen 2 hands down.
Ah yes, Blood Omen 2. The "Highlander 2" of the LoK franchise.

tokisto: Crusader: No Remorse. Awful, terrible controls.

tinyE: AHHHHHH! This thread just keeps getting worse! What's next?! Deus Ex? Settlers? FreeSpace?
I guess I should have expected some of these answers because a lot of the worst games on this service are also pretty obscure, and only people (like me) who have made the mistake of getting bad games as part of sales. Sure, Master of Orion 3 is soul-crushingly bad, but the average human isn't self-loathing enough to pick it up when everyone in their right mind has warned them away from it.

Their complaints aren't entirely unwarranted, a lot of these classic titles aren't the easiest to get into but if I wanted to turn this thread into dumping on popular games I could say that I never finished Fallout 2 and think that the first game is better by a wide margin.

Really? Well that probably explains why I got it then, or rather why the parents had chosen it for a gift or something (since I can't remember how I actually got it at all) :P
Additional nostalgia kick due to the BigBox still standing in pretty good condition [/potatolanders reminiscing;]

I can't really say I've played a truly 'bad' game from here (Kingdom: The Far Reaches and Gothic 3 are still waiting for their turn, so that might change), but in terms of "disappointments / waisted potential" I could echo Fahrenheit (although I still enjoyed it a lot until it started to fall apart) or Blood Omen 2 (the weak link in an otherwise very interesting series).

All of them and at the same time none of them.

Why? short of something on such a horrid level of awful and terrible that it's just painful to think someone thought that it was worth something like say Big Rigs(even then I seen some people say it wasn't that bad), any game no matter how well loved or amazing the majority of gamers think it is there will always be that one person who will hate it and say it's crap and the same can be said for games that are highly despised like Daikatana or Ultima IX are have at least one person who thinks the world of it and feel it was at the very least a decent game that is worth giving a shot too.

but for me personally MOO3 and Teen Agent.

DCT: All of them and at the same time none of them.
It's not that subjective. There are many quantifiable reasons why games like Daikatana are bad. In Daikatana's case it's generally down to every single thing about your sidekicks. The path finding being the most obvious problem. There's also the fact that the namesake sword is somewhat crap. Things like that are well established and aren't up for debate.

no actually it is, because there are people who look past the broken crap and enjoyed the game and view it a decent title just do a little searching and you will see that these people exist. It's as the old adage goes "one man's trash is another's treasure"

From my collection it have to be Megarace 3 and Speed Buster. There's very little margin for error, you have to make a perfect lap to beat the rubber-band AI. Urban Chaos as well for having the worst control scheme and checkpoint system ever.

I am glad I'm not the only one to use that adage in this thread. It is probably the truest thing you can say about like/dislike of anything.

tfishell: I went ahead and cheated on FC1, and ended up enjoying it after (to some degree).

Worst game for me would probably be Prince of Persia Sands of Time, because of the combat. It might be because I'm an "twitchy" gamer, but I just could not get the supposed "fluidity" and ended having to use a trainer for essentially all of it.

I got irritated at Rayman 2 and Beyond Good and Evil for their final bosses (BG&E I have never beaten). Psychonauts I'm probably going to need a trainer for too, if I want to complete it.

Elmofongo: My brother told me thats a problem with most of Ubisoft Montreal's games, they lack player agency, letting the game guide the player rather than the player conquering the levels themselves. Only game that does not have this was the Splinter Cell games specifically Chaos Theory.
I noticed Ubisoft also doesn't like to let players save anywhere they want to and seems to be fond of extremely hard final boss fights. :P (I'm basing this off of Rayman 2, BG&E, and Cold Fear. Resident Evil 4 for PC had a hard boss towards what I presume is close to the end [the midget guy turned into a tentacle-mouth thing], but ended up being able to narrowly beat him ... and this was on easy!)

I wouldn't say it's close to the end, but it's well past halfway through. I never had a problem with the little shit myself, I just sniped him silly without taking damage on the first go at Normal difficulty. That's on the European Gamecube version, where the bolt-action rifle was more powerful than in US versions IIRC.

I don't think you're talking about the same thing. But I didn't play RE4 for a long time so I may be in the wrong though.

So long as no-one mentions Thief or System Shock 2 in this thread - in which case the world would truly be doomed.
I'm currently re-playing Deus Ex, and it's still great fun but not as good as I remember.

There's some interesting choices in this thread. I regularly hear complaints about Blood 2 and Judge Dredd being terrible games, but I personally didn't find them that bad, so long as you were expecting nothing much. The worst game I've seen on GOG is Master of Orion 3. There's some games I have bought that I didn't click with (Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, The Nations Gold etc), but the only one I have which I think IS bad is Chaser.
