A friend and I used to play this game way back in the day. It's kinda like a scorched earth / worms game set in space. You can buy different weapons and you had to hook your shots around planets and use their gravity to help aim your shots.

No, that's not the one I was thinking of, but that game looks like it might be a predecessor to the one I was thinking of.
The game I have in mind has pretty graphics, definitely windows based. Probably came out in 98-02.

Did you have a spaceship (a sort of...) and did they comment shooting/surviving a shot by a text? (like "I'm not one of those pathetic little Worms")
Or was there a weapon firing a rocket that did orbit the planet or another weapon called Walker?

Yes! I completely forgot about those parts of the game, but yeah, those are both in it.

No problem. It's an excellent game. The official site still exists, but the game hasn't been updated in ages, and is not Vista compatible, as far as I know.
I for one would love to be able to play it again.
EDIT: You should go vote for it on the wishlist. It's horribly undervoted :-(
