Iain: My favorites are :

Ed, Edd & Eddy
Dexters Lab
Cow & Chicken (I am Weasel also)

I do prefer the old Hanna Barbera stuff though like Flinstones, The Jetsons & Topcat
Well, the ones before they went downhill. Scooby Doo is not popular because of the animation quality, believe me.

The old Warner Brother stuff, early Hannah Barbera, MGM cartoons. I htink the only decent qualtify I've seen in the last like 25 years is Ren and Stimpy, and the various Spielberg cartoons. Heeeellooooooo Nurse.

I like Ed Edd and Eddy, but the animation like all the recent stuff is garbage.

EDIT: I did kind of like Sea Lab 2021 and Venture Brothers, now that I think of it. But they're parody shows.

Roman5: Definitely Ed Edd n Eddy

While the later seasons took a dramatical drop in quality, the first seasons are some of the best cartoons I have ever seen, a lot of heart and soul was clearly put into them

Samurai jack is a close second, with almost every episode being awesome.
I agree, as long as you don't consider the quality of animation. Which was terrible from the start. But, the other components were amazing.

Sheep in the Big City was my favourite. It's ridiculous and often tedious, but it's worth wading through aforementioned tedium to find the occasional nugget of pure gold.
oh, i was thinking currently on air. in that case also samari jack

orcishgamer: "and tune in next week when we bring you the exciting conclusion of nothing happened again!"

"except if it's the end of the season, we'll make something happen, and then not resolve it for you for 6 months with our patent pending 'cliffhanger' technology!"

*yawn*

Sorry, I know a lot of people liked it, just thought it hit a very niche market that I didn't happen to be in.

Elmofongo: Now I reveal my stupidity, can you explain that again but without the sarcasm.
I thought it was boring, not really much more to it than that. The end of season cliffhangers were annoying and for a story driven show, it failed to have a whole lot of story in a lot of the episodes.

This is all completely personal opinion, of course.

I also think perhaps it was targeted at people who'd grown up with Episodes 1-3 rather than 4-6, which may have explained why I was less enthralled with the whole thing.
Ed Edd & Eddy by far. It went on a really long time.
Powerpuff Girls.
Samurai Jack.
Sym-Bionic Titan. Cut down far too soon.
Teen Titans.
Can't really think of any more right now.
top cat was awesome
swat kats , centurions was good too
some of those kids cartoons were cool back then too like

bob the builder
pingu etc
Courage the Cowardly Dog
Dexter's Lab (the older episodes)
Johnny Bravo (the older episodes)
Powerpuff Girls (also the old episodes)
Justice League
Ben 10 (the original)
Megas XLR
Samurai Jack
Tom & Jerry (those of the first era)

I hated Adventure Time at first, but it slowly grew on me. It's fun to watch.

Thunderstone: Courage the Cowardly Dog and Megas XLR
Not too long ago I started watching Megas XLR again with my bros. Very good cartoon, worth watching multiple times.

See, what I have found is that as I have been getting older I have come to appreciate the older Hanna Barbera stuff a lot more, cartoons like Flinstones etc used to bore me a bit when I was younger and I thought they dragged out.

I bought Flinstones Season 1 & 2 and Topcat complete set on DVD earlier this year and must admit I have really enjoyed watching them. The old school animation and writing is awesome.

My next purchase I have decided is going to be Count Duckula complete box set, that will be some point in the new year.

Yes I know that, what I'm trying to say is that SW 1-3 didn't exactly charm most of us who'd grown up with 4-6. It's not about where in the storyline it fit in so much as which method of storytelling it picked, which also happened to be the 1-3 method.
