jamyskis: Mind you, Ukraine's military is a bit of a pushover anyway compared to the might of the Russian army. Poland won't be so easily knocked down, and Russia really cannot afford to antagonise Germany.
Nor Germany to antagonise Russia :P. Otherwise the next russian telegram to Germany could look something like this:
"Germany must accept Russian terms for xy country. Stop. If not gas. Stop" :P
The game vault will be nationalized and youll get your monthly card with some torrent norm in it.

blotunga: Otherwise the next russian telegram to Germany could look something like this:
After recent Russian "telegrams" to Poland and Hungary, there is good chance what soon any incoming messages from this source wouldnt be able to pass a spamfilter, and thus would have the slight chance to be actually readed from the trashbin.

Barefoot_Monkey: This is what happens when you cancel regional pricing. No special price for Russians, Poland gets invaded.
AHAHAHAHAHAHA! That made me laugh so hard.

This may be a bad place to ask, but will all this stuff affect the release of Nuclear Union?
avatar
Turjake: If that were to happen, the fate of GOG would be the least of our worries.

But maybe we could all get first hand experience of a post-apocalyptic world then. Real life Fallout! How cool would that be?
hah. yeah. you guys are probably next.

and it would be cool indeed. nuclear winter is a real threat. wonder whether we can balance it out with global warming?

JudasIscariot: Guess we'll have to take the crown off our eagle...again.

blotunga: And put a sickle instead... On the other hand it could mean Russian prices for games, not sure if worth the tradeoff though :P
Actually, we'd just go from to [url=http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/56/Coat_of_Arms_of_Poland_%281955-1980%29.svg/500px-Coat_of_Arms_of_Poland_%281955-1980%29.svg.png]this

hedwards: Well, they did just annex Crimea. But yeah, I'm not really sure there's any reason to think they'll go any further at this point. But, the whole way that it was handled was rather fishy.
avatar
jamyskis: Indeed, the key point being in this case that the vast majority of Crimeans wanted to be annexed by Russia. Ukraine was holding onto Crimea for dear life as nothing more than a simple land grab.

What concerns me is that Putin may start having delusions about Russia having some manifest destiny to revive the former Soviet Union.

Goodness knows, outside of the major metropolitan centres like Moscow and St. Petersburg, Putin has a lot of support from patriot zealots who think that Josef Stalin was the best thing since sliced bread. And the Russian military is certainly powerful enough.
Confusing thing is that Putin has been sounding more far-right than far-left recently with all the anti-gay stuff and wasn't there something about 'The Jews bringing the Holocaust on themselves' from someone in his camp too?
Ouch.
If this was to happen two words Wasteland 2. Cant see it myself but you never know.
Well, there was supposed to be an eagle without a crown but Wikipedia is weird about that link :/

Well, it's more about the Soviet solidarity aspects of it than the economic theory behind Soviet communism. Besides, the Soviet Union was also anti-gay and anti-semitic.
So sorry if I end up sounding like a complete idiot but this whole Russia thing has been bothering me ever since i've been hearing about it. Should I be scared of the world going to hell or is it blown out of proportion?

You live in Canada - that's miles from any potential flashpoint.

hedwards: As far as Putin goes, he gets a lot of credit for things that have nothing to do with him. Yes, the lives of Russians are better now than they were previously, but that was already starting before he came to power, and the give him an awful lot of leeway despite his absolutely appalling record on human rights.
Go live in a fire, non-fatally.

Tsarist Russia was anti-semitic, you asshat.

Some Russian diplomat said "US should be careful about alaska", so I am not sure about it.
