Did the GOGbear eat his thread? Refreshing the link gives me a 404.

Sure, I either didn't really understand his point or he was being moronic, but I found it somewhat fun. And I was not aware of threads disappearing like this, other than spam.

It was probably deleted. I haven't checked the second page of it so I don't know if there were any motives.

It didn't look like a very reasonable OP, but I don't recall anything worth deleting. Sure, the title was clickbait and confrontational, but I'd say at worst it could get locked.

Granted, I honestly don't see a reason to delete anything other than spam, I don't see any reason why a thread should never again be seen. So my opinion is quite biased.

I hadn't looked at it again after my first read through (I presume we mean the guy claiming the EULA was DRM?)

But I noticed the title was greyed out meaning it had been down voted. If people had also reported it as spam it may have gotten auto deleted, I believe that's how it works anyway.

That makes sense. People seem to be click happy with the minus rep, and last I saw of the guy he was at -1. If you combine that with the clickbait title... tons of people must have looked at that. I wish they wouldn't misuse the spam reporting, though.

You probably missed the part where he was asking for a refund on grounds of the EULA, to test if the refunds were trustworthy and confirm his willingness to buy more games in GOG. Presumably, to get those refunded too, as the EULA is the same. I must have missed something, because I found it hilarious.

I haven't seen that thread but I hope that this is not a sign that with the new community manager we're going to face a lot of "moderation" in case of controversial topics. The last thing we need is Steam-style moderation where nobody is allowed to discuss and/or question the sense of GOG's policies (or those of their partners).

It was more about EULA in general for digitally distributed media and his problem with Steam.

I doubt it, it would be a huge sudden change and the thread wasn't that controversial either. I think the auto delete from spam reports that adaliabooks suggested is a lot more likely.

We have a new community manager? O.o I must have missed that announcement too. I have really liked that we're sort of left to our own devices on the forum and can have critical opinions, so hopefully there's no change to that.

I don't think there was an announcement but in one of the more recent release threads some blue woman posted something recently and admitted that she's new (I think after JMich asked who she is). In another thread Judas mentioned that she's the community manager. I think she also mentioned that she's responsible for the tweets and Facebook posts.

Heh, I was reading that just now and when trying to go to page 2 I got a 404.

I guess it either was reported as spam by too many people which would auto-delete it. I know this was (ab)used in the past.
Or the OP requested the topic to be deleted, but I'm not sure that would actually do it. GOG would lock a topic when the OP asks it but delete... I'm not sure.

So auto-delete for spam seems the most likely cause.

So we have a secret community manager whom no one but Judas knows? Well, I suppose people who use social media knows her too... It would have been nice with an introductory post, though. I've always liked that the GOG forum is like going to your neighborhood pub -- familiar faces and a sense of community.

Hi! Yes, that's me :) Nice to meet you, sorry it's happening in rather unfortunate circumstances ;) But yes, I manage Twitter and Facebook, and will appear a bit on the forums as well - NOT to delete posts and threads or be the Opinion Police, but rather to [url=http://www.gog.com/forum/general/release_lumino_city_afca6]contests and do some other (hopefully) fun stuff in the future :)

But back to the topic: the had a glitch and the EULA/DRM thread got deleted as a result. We're not censoring your conversations - the feedback you give is actually really valuable, both when positive and negative, and part of some of our jobs is to listen in on what's going on, so deleting stuff would really be counterproductive for all parties involved ;)

I have sent a pretty please with a cherry on top to our developers asking if there's a way we could get the thread back up - but they might be swamped with other projects, so if it requires more than a bit of work, it might not be possible. I'll keep you posted on this and let you know if (when?) the thread will be up again.

TL;DR: I'm the community manager, here to share game news and contests, not to be the Opinion Police. The thread disappeared due to a glitch, we'll see if we can restore it. :)
