I tend to have a "Monk" type of attitude about organization, so none on the desktop but many installed and shortcut links as in the attached picture.

My desktop is barren. Recycle bin top left and the cpu/memory usage gadget top right.

Not really in the mood to list 'em all. There's not way too much, but this slightly out-of-date by 20 minutes should help. It kinda looks like crap, but I had to compress it somehow and still make the text readable!
Now I changed my wallpaper from that sexy Stardust Speedway wallpaper to a little screenshot of the Anti-Mass Spectrometer at its work, nearly about to cause total chaos.

My desktop: It's very minimalistic. I mostly just go to start and type in the name.

Everything must be properly organized. Games go together by theme, genre, engine, publisher, and series.

Thanks for reminding me to clean my desktop, I probably had two dozen icons on it, now there's half as many, the attached games and less than a handful others.
