So I'm now looking to buy a few games from GOG, and was wondering which ones?
I love Descent, and good racing games, I really like Freespace 1 and 2 also. Two games I would immediately get if they were on here would be Homeworld (Any from that series really) and Centipede, but neither of those are here.
What I'm looking at right now is getting:
1. Flatout (I either played this, or Flatout 2 on a friends PS2 and loved it! Plus it looks like about the best racing game on GOG IMO)
2. Outcast (It looks really cool! [plus it has a 5 star rating from over 606 reviews] But I don't really know much about it. Could someone tell me what it's all about? It looks like a 3rd person shooter, is that correct?)
3. Myst: Masterpiece Edition (I used to have regular Myst. Awesome game. Want to get it just to have it lol :)
4. Riven (Mainly cause I loved Myst, I think I'll most likely love Riven.)
Those are the ones I'm thinking about. I also love flight sims, but I don't have a working joystick at the moment, so It has to be completely keyboard compatible. (Which sadly Red Baron Pack isn't.)
So any suggestion/additions?
Thanks!

Hey!
Outcast is indeed a 3rd person shooter however there is also a heavy emphasis on exploration and talking to other characters. If you don't like that kind of thing (and even if you do) you should try out Giants: Citizen Kabuto which is an excellent 3rd person shooter with 3 really different characters to control (made by the people who made Armed and Dangerous if you've heard of that). The others I'm not really sure about (not a huge Myst tbh).
So just saw the active Promo, and I saw Aquanox. Watching the video it looks sorta like Descent. Anybody know much about it?
If you haven't played Riven yet, I strongly suggest getting realMyst (to refresh your memory and visit Rime) and then Riven. Riven is awesome.
On the other hand, Outcast is supposedly excellent. Have yet to play it myself, though.

If you love Homeworld I think you'd love Ground Control (the first one) since the whole game is about tactics. You don't have any resources just some squads, so you have to think and plan very carefully.
Or haegemonia, its a solid space RTS
1. Played the demo. Despite the more Destruction Derby vibe, I generally prefer the sequel. However it's generally possible to get a better, similar game to both for not much more.
2. Outcast is pretty awesome in many ways. But the instability coupled with the checkpoint save nature of the game is kind of off-putting. Plus it's very low res with massive black borders. It's one of those games that desperately needs to be remade.
As an alternative you might want to consider Hostile Waters. One of the more underrated GOGs.

There's a patch for that.

I haven't tried that one yet. But I haven't had any luck with the others. Does that one work on Windows 7?

Checkpoint save system? Checpoints are PRECISELY what I missed in the game! I wanted it to autosave after cinematics so badly! You can save whenever you can.
I have actually played Outcast for the first time in my life now and it was ... Amazing experience. There is no other game like it, and if you like open-word games, you are going to love it. Promise.
Outcast if you are up for exploring really great landmarks and play games with big athmosphere and storyline.
RIven and/or Myth if you like click point adventures.

Nice! Thanks for letting me know. How stable did you find it?

Well... With the 640x480 patch it was very stable, actually. Maybe I was just lucky, but it has crashed on me maybe... 3 times? And after restarting windows, it stopped crashing altogether.
