No X-Wing series doesn't use newtonian physics, it flies the same as Wing Commander or Freespace.
Indeed you have to manage the fighters systems more carefully as in those games and you don't even want to try to play it without a joystick as there are no keyboard commands to steer the ship and the mousecontrols are horrible.

Graphically, then it will be even more immersive.
Nothing is more detrimental to immersion than taking you out of the cockpit, visually you are looking at 2 or 3 years of advancements in graphicstechnology.

brinf1: Severance - Blade of Darkness. Playing through the turd that is Demon Stone reminded me of how great Severance was as a melee combat simulator - I'm not sure any game released since is its equal. Huge pity this game isn't on GoG.
Definately agree with that Severance needs to be on GOG.

Strijkbout: Project Eden, again from a developer who produced a franchise that completely overshadows this game which never got a lot of attention.
Ah. My first gaming purchase in Australia and last purchase of old school retail release (big cardboard box, cd case)

very fun game. awesome premise. shame we did not get more games in the series.

StingingVelvet: I can't vouch for the console versions, they might be the source of all the talk about bugs and crappy controls. I never had problems on PC.
After disabling AA to make the dialogue options visible, I only had one bug appear consistently - enemies disappearing when reloading a save - on the PC, which really isn't too bad considering the horror stories I'd heard about Alpha Protocol's alleged bugginess. The game is flawed in some areas, but I still loved it to bits. Any chance we could have it on GOG, GOG?

It's only got 255 votes on the wishlist, which I find rather baffling.

I read ages ago that the flight physics of X-Wing are from their old WW II games.

Rogue Leader 2 has a cockpit view, this guy was just playing in third person.

I'm not really sure how well it was received at the time, but all I know is that I loved Machiavelli: The Prince. Maybe it was a little repetitive but I didn't mind one bit. I adored that game and it seems to have been forgotten behind the other great strategy games of that time.

I like it too. I believe the problem is that it was a time when managerial were very popular and only a few mannered to be noticed like Transport Tycoon, Theme Park and so on...
