corfe83: Imperialism I & II. Really excellent turn-based strategy games.
Absolutely on the first one. A game I could truly play over and over and over again without boredom.

The second one.... Not so much.

SimonG: The Realms of Arkania triology. I really don't like the way GOG is treating them :'( .
Tell me more. What have we done to that series that is not right, in your opinion?

edit. changed some wording around because context :D

GOG did not give it away for free for starter...

I know we gave the first two games free for doing the yearly survey...

Ahh, this must be that sarcasm thing that everyone keeps telling me about :D
Tzar: The Burden of the Crown
Vastly unknown and underrated. It was the first game with a full experience system for every single unit on the battlefield. Three well balanced races, a dozen or so ways to build your army (diversity was mandatory), very nice story-driven campaign, challenging and non-trivial missions even though most of them are based on build-your-base-gather-resources-expand-your-army-crush-the-opponent template. And a cherry on top - excellent mission and campaign editor.

I've found my retailed version not so long ago and replaying it was pure pleasure.

1. You offer it not with the original language (I am happy to have the game in german, I know that not many here understand german, but the storytelling is much better in the original version).

2. Not 100%, but I think that the version you offer is set to "basic" mode and can only be set to the "expert" mode with a trick. The german version asks you at the beginning of the game, which mode you like to play. "Expert" mode is much deeper and more fun to play.

1. Legal/licensing issues may be at play about the language option.

2. I'll ask about this and see what, if anything, can be done to get this working properly without tricks. Could be that the English version might not have this, again, I'll have to do some research into this once I get back into the office :D.

I can look it up. It is the international version that was set to basic mode by the publisher, but the expert mode is still in the game, but you have to tweak a setting in the .exe to reactivate the game mode selection.

lettmon: I ordered that yesterday on ebay for ps3 woohoo
I can't vouch for the console versions, they might be the source of all the talk about bugs and crappy controls. I never had problems on PC.

SimonG: Personally, I think it is the best Fallout. As a rabid fanboy of the series I like it how NV combines the best of all predecessors.
The original games are so different it's hard for me to make a direct comparison. New Vegas certainly has the best writing, and is certainly better than 3, but overall I dunno. Sometimes I want apples and sometimes I want oranges.

I've never had the chance to play the German version; how does the story-telling differ? Can you think of an example of something that's worse in English? And what exactly is the difference between Basic and Expert mode?
The last remnant

Best J-rpg ever... i hope this gem's will be avalible someday on GoG.

I am not sure, which version of the game is available here, as I mainly play the german version.

The difference of the basic and expert modes are, that you have much more control over your party (you can alter each single attribute as in the original pen and paper game). In addition, you have more control, what you can do during night camps.

Regarding the story, I can't really recall at the moment, as I have not played the english version for a long time, but I missed some parts that were in the german version. Nothing important for the main storyline, but made me feel more in the world of Aventurien :)

Ok, The Last Remnant is actually a pretty good game, i agree with you there, but the best JRPG ever? I hope that was a hyperbole. There's Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears, Chronocross, Suidoken, Shining Force, Fire Emblem, Golden Sun, Tales of series, Disgaea, Persona, Shin Megami Tensei, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Breath of Fire and plenty of others.

You gave it away for free, like some cheap country skank it was available for everybody!

Something given has no value! People should cherish it and not have feel it is the token fat girl on the GOG shelf date!

(And of course the problem that you don't have the German or CD version, but that is beyond your control, so I won't hold it against you)

We gave Fallout for free as well...what's your say on that one? :D
