That was close, I opened the post the first minute after you wrote it, but the gift was already redeemed =)

Thanks anyway!

Agreed.

TBH it seems like theres a lot of gift 'Bots' or stalkers who stay on here just to claim quick gift codes, it's very strange.

Someone else gave an xbox live code away recently and it was claimed within 5 minutes, and someone else gave a game and it was claimed in like 30 seconds. Both without a word. Conspiracy? 0.o

(Disclaimer: It wasn't me, as I tried for them too and lost sadly.)

indeed

Codes should be either posted in images or "by parts"

Barnell knows who claimed the code - he could always reveal nick for us to stigmatize him/her even more. :P ;) Anyway that is one of the reasons why I am not a fan of giving codes straight. Even a simply "remove all O letters" would work. :)

For me its normal - I would never claim xbox code and I think most people wont do it as we are GOG community in majority not xbox's one.

Yes but some here might play Xbox regardless. Anyways I think it had to be a newcomer as they didn't even say thanks which usually a gogger would do who has been here awhile.

Well, my main concern about changing GOG's strategy is "too many newcomers (probably "steamers") will come and spoil this great community". I am not using a Steam nor I am not a member of Steam community but Ive heard a lot of bad things about. :(

Well newcomers bring a double edged sword. On the one hand they bring bad apples, but on the other they also bring some new potential buddies.

The steam community is not all that bad, not for its size at least. But there are a handful of people on the steam forums who ruin it for everyone else. You don't need to be an active part of the steam community though, most people just use the client (I sometimes use the forums, but for the most part, I don't).

Well I managed to swipe a Realms of Arkadia code a few days ago and I'm a real live person with 100+ rep and everything!
(the ref to rep is there to indicate that I'm a real 'reg' here, nothing more - heh - ref to rep for reg(ness))
