My choice is clear.
People who play FF9 knows that Alexandria soldiers are all female. But I can always work with them as a.... liaison with other branch of soldiers.
The Order of the Phoenix
Midkemian
Ah surve the Flamin' Fist!

Nahh, I don't know. Too many to chose from. I'd probably end up Faceless Minion #2033 in some villain's fortress.
Is there a fictional military where wars are fought via proxy with remotely operated robots and nobody dies? Then, maybe that one as a remote pilot. Otherwise, forget it.

I would probably go with the centauri republic from babylon 5.
I've always thought about this, and I feel that I'd be safer as a merchant. I'd be able to keep my technical pacifism, and be able to explore strange worlds, and just as quickly leave when things got too hairy.

As for real militaries, I'm a conscientious objector (Technically, but I hit a snag currently because I feel the politics of the current conflicts are crooked), disabled, and more than willing to sign papers to emigrate to a more peaceful country.

Overall, I feel the concept of military is obsolete in this age, and instead we should be working to unify peaceful parts of the globe, even if that means say, greatly reducing the USA's overall power and placing sanctions on the country, or dismantling parts of the Middle East, so that way nobody has to argue over who gets to live in a scorched desert the size of New Jersey.

Well, you know if thats the requirement you could just become U.S. drone pilot.

Anyways, why the Jedi havent been mentioned? Someone claims they wouldnt want to join either side of The Force(tm)?
Had enough in real life, thank you.

I agree that the Starship Troopers one is appealing because it's idealised, but that's one of my problems with that book.
The Bikini Bottom National Reserve of Fish and Crustaceans in the Effort to Maintain Peace in the Ocean. That or the Marines.
Like Darvond, I'm a conscientiious objector, so the answers is none. I'll probably be just another peasant getting slaughtered in the wars.

Mildly relevant: a very realistic assessment of how one would fare as a member of the Imperial Guard from Warhammer 40k.

sauvignon1: If you could join any fictional military, what would it be? It could be from a book, game, movie, tv series, etc. I would choose the Mobile Infantry from the novel Starship Troopers.
Ha! I would be from the Starship Troopers movie, steering one of those big battleships instead.

I've read the novel too, it was really quite different from the movie. I would almost call it a right-wing propaganda novel. The movie turned all that upside down.
I probably wouldn't if I didn't have to. I've got better things to do. Besides, fictional militaries are always either fighting or about to be dropped into a fight a few hours/episodes into the story, which doesn't really encourage me.
