I don't often LOL but I sure did when I read this eye opening series:

Part I | Part II
Software piracy can’t be justified as sharing as long as it violates the law of God and the law of men.
Whether you are aware or not you take a risk of loosing your salvation each time you purchase, use or distribute pirated software.
And copyright infringement isn't the only way to get a one way ticket to hell. In one of the comments, the author says it's a sin even to violate Microsoft's EULA.

Enjoy.

I take it that any oath taken on a pirate Bible is invalid?
No, the Bible doesn't say anything about software piracy, but it does talk about theft and human laws. Stealing and breaking human laws are both sins.

*Sighs when someone brings up theft yet again in a piracy debate*

Piracy is not theft, but copyright infringement. Must I keep bringing the bloody dictionary out for every person that says this? *hangs head and sighs*

Well, there are actually a lot of translations still protected by copyright. I just linked to the King James translation because I find it fascinating that it has a copyright term of forever.
Well, Jesus was "copying" (or "pirating") the bread and fishes, so I assume he was pro piracy.

You're right. Didn't god command us to be fruity and multiply our software?

FOR-EVER? O-M-G! That's like...longer than 9000 years!

/silly mode off

But on a serious note that makes me laugh too. :)

That's no entirely right. Stealing is a sin, but breaking an unjust human law (abortion, euthanasie) is not a sin.

Yeah, probably a miller and a fisherman tried to sue him for damages afterwards. Then they put DRM (gravel) in their products to make their users easily recognizable by shattered teeth.
