I've got some fried PSUs, old bugdet GPUs and some other spare stuff lying around, I got no clue what to do with them though.

Seems like a waste to just throw it away...
Smash them! destroy them with fire works!! throw them off your garage roof!!!

If it's broken, chuck it away at your local landfill tip site.

If it's half decent try selling it.

If it's old, give it away via freecycle or someone you know that may want that stuff.
Catapult.
give them away, how old are they?
I try to fix it. Last weekend I tried to repair my IDE DVD drive from 2006...The device worked well but some mechanical parts worn out and i had to press open button several times before the tray opened.
It took me several hours, I almost fired my PC and I failed but I'm happy now because I know how this thing works. Great experience :-)
Depends. If I happen to have a plan to build a not so powerful computer, I may use an obsolete component. Broken and useless obsolete stuff I just carry to the nearest Gigantti for free and proper disposal.
I usually donate them to a local charity. My home state requires the manufacturers to pay for the cost of recycling most electronic devices. Some of it does get reused, but the rest gets recycled.

I'd recommend going to http://www.ban.org/ to try and minimize the likelihood that it ends up here in China being illegally recycled in violation of the laws here. I know it still happens, but sometimes the authorities don't notice it.

And I do not, want to be breathing in your electronics fumes. :-P
Give them to my mom who is a crazy hoarder. I guess that makes me an enabler.

I'm fairly certain that simply throwing them away in the trash is illegal. (Well, maybe not in Napoli;-) ) Recycling is mandatory.

The legality of catapulting however, is still up to debate ..
If you have enough parts you may buid a router, a mamebox, a torrentbox or a simple media player
- If I build a whole new system, I pass on the old one to my mom. She doesn't need gaming power, so the boost to browser speed, office and email is still plenty enough.

- Individual pieces of functioning hardware (like an old video card after an upgrade) I'll usually keep as spare in case a new component gets fried. Nothing sucks more than having a broken computer and no spare parts for a couple of days until the new component arrives.

- Hardware which is broken or too old to be of any use I'll bring to the next recycling point.

That's why I dump my old hardware in a nearby lake.
If broken and not in an easily repairable state:
To the recycling bin they go

If in a good state but of no use to me right now:
Into the closet they go.

If I don't foresee ever being able to use it again, but it is still in a usable state:
Recycling bin.
This is for individual components. I don't think I'll be able to find anyone looking for an orphaned GeForce 2 card or a cheap soundcard from a computer bought in 1998.
Give them away to charity or computer stores.
