DCT: Sadly there really is nothing that they could do that won't result in at least someone one coming on the boards and complaining. They could announce the signing of Microsot, Lucas arts and Take 2 and release System Shock 1+2, Grim Fandango, Blood Omen, Metal Fatigue, No one lives forever 1+2 for free plus give away a lifetime supply of hookers and blow and there still will be a few dozen complaints.
THIS BLOW IS CUT WITH SOMETHING SHITTY! RARGLE FRARGLE etc, etc...
Well, the 500th game is officially Omerta: City of Gangsters. But since it's not out yet, it doesn't count as the 500th RELEASE, so that's still coming tomorrow... anyone got any other weird theories as to what it could be? Maybe something like "I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream".
It says "500 games available". Meh, disappointed.
It's not available though. So I wouldn't call Omerta: City of Gangsters the 500th game.

It's a false alarm.

Interesting to see what the 500th release will turn out being. It's quite a landmark for GOG. I'm surprised they haven't made more of a fuss about it.

500 is a big milestone, so I'm adamant that it will be a bundle consisting of System Shock 1, System Shock 2, Bioshock 1, Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite, Dead Space 1, Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 3...all for $5.99.
C&C the First Decade

Probably not, but that would be fun. We could have contest to see who could blow up D.C. the fastest!
Between Enigmatic T's "Booby Traps" hint and Brian Fargo's tweet about inXile's Bard's Tale coming soon to GOG, that's the one I'd place my bet on.

No need, you can already get the best C&C games for free legally.

yes but they have problems working in Vista/Windows 7. Plus I count C&C :RA2 & expansion as one of the best games and I don't think that's available anywhere legit for free

The first Tiberium game is freeware but it's a bitch to install. You need to mount a disc and oy...
Anyway I was half joking, I already own every C&C up through Generals.
About 7 hours left. Are we doing a countdown in this thread? :)

I don't think I'll be sleeping tonight. Really excited to see what #500 is.

If it is, I think I might be a little disappointed. I don't see that as "big". I see System Shock 2 as big. Maybe the early Civilization games. DRM-free FF7-9. I dunno.

But not Bard's Tale.

I'm hoping for a bundle featuring Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure, Indiana Jones And The Fate Of Atlantis and Indiana Jones And The Infernal Machine (with the announcement of future releases from LucasArts) or Leisure Suit Larry 1-7.

(In my best "Good ol' JR" Jim Ross scream)...

LARRY LAFFER!!! LARRY LAFFER!!! LARRY LAFFER!!!

...actually, I'm not positive which was exactly 500. Could've been Larry, could've been Avernum. I'm sure its listed somewhere. Regardless, I am **THRILLED** that the leisure suit-wearing lounge lizard is finally...oh wait...now I think I'm channeling the spirit of "The Great One" himself, The Rock...

FINALLY, THE LAFFER HAS COME BACK TO...ummm...well, he was never on GOG to begin with, but he's here now!

Avernum was 499, Omerta pre-order was 500 (but it's a pre-order, so it doesn't count) and LSL was 501.
