As always, history is written by the winners, the "ass kicking" is highly exaggerated. They never kick below the waist.
And just to clarify a few points (though this is not a place for political debate), it wasn't an "invation", it was a sad and stupid political move by a falling dictator.
UK had every right to defend the island, as they consider them theirs, and Argentina had every right to reclaim the island as part of our territory though our goverment chose the shittiest way to do it...
The explanation on why both countries had a valid claim over the island (Falkland or Malvinas, however you wish to call them) goes beyond my knowledge of the english language

Well seeing as the majority of the population is British and speaks English and want to stay with Britain, claims don't mean shit.

Besides Diego Maradona and football, not much. I don't even know your gastronomy... how sad!

Why does everyone remember Maradona, but nobody remembered Messi?) It is certainly not worse player

Messi is a much better person and arguably superior player IMO then Maradona as he isn't a junkie or a cheater. My favorite football player even though I support Brazil at the international level. :)

Messi may well be a better person, but as for superior player... it's hard to judge, especially because football has changed a lot in the 25-30 years since Maradona was at his peak. However, Maradona almost single-handedly (pun intended) led Argentina to win the World Cup in '86, incidentally the last time they won it. Until Messi accomplishes something similar for the national team he's not reached Diego's level in my book (and tbh, until now Messi has usually performed at a significantly higher level for Barcelona than for his country).

When i think of Argentina i think of the Gaucho (true cowboy), Pampas Grass, and Patagonia. i very much want to visit and i dream of living wild there. Argentina has some of the most beautiful country in the world.
Edit: Oh, i forgot about Dr. Ernesto Guevara. An Argentine medical student who took a break from school to ride across South America on a motorcycle. As he traveled and saw the sad plight of the people suffering under foreign imperialism, he took a stand. First helping the people directly, then joining the war against rich white dudes who were raping all of Latin America. The man had compassion for his people. He fought the imperialists on their behalf. Sadly he is demonized (or idolized) by the ignorant who can only think of him as warmongering Che Guevara.
