Early next month I am getting some money in and besides a new laptop I was think about either getting a PS3 or a Tablet if I have enough left over.

Which one do you guys recommend I get a PS3 or a Tablet and why?
If a Tablet what kind is a good kind to get? I was thinking a Nexus 7 or a Kindle Fire but I wanna here from you.
Depends a lot on what you inted to do with those gadgets, doesn't it?

True
You asked us to think but we have no brain.

The tablet is not meant for everybody in my opinion. It can be really usefull or the exact opposite, however it is always a big investment. Don't buy a tablet before you know exactly why you want it (If you usually read a lot of text files on a daily basis for instance, a tablet is really good )
Are you interested in Blu-Ray? PS3 is a good BR player.

Well the laptop would mainly stay at home or with me at a friends but not on the road which is why I was considering a tablet, the tablet I was thinking about bringing to school for me to use if I needed it but on the other hand I kinda have a phobia of bringing my electronics places in case they get ruined, which isn't as bad anymore but the feeling is still there. The PS3 would so I had something to do if I didn't want to get online.

Haha yeah it is I would buy it just for that if I was really in BR but it's a so-so thing for me right now and not something I have to have yet

Sounds like you'd have uses for both, so you just have to decide which one you'd be using more.

Yeah, which is why I thought I would get your guys opinions but I prolly posted at a bad time since a lot of people aren't on so maybe I will bump this later.

I think you are really the only one who can say which one would be more useful to you. We can only list you the features, and you can read those from product reviews just the same.
ps4 is being released in 2 months... that means ps3 prices will go down drastically. so I would recommend waiting till november and buying ps4 or second hand for cheap ps3.
Getting a PS3 (500 gig) today with GTA V and The Last of Us for €249, thats pretty good value for a BR player, 2 games and 500 gigs of media entertainment.

My kids got Ipads and Nexus tablets and dont use them for much after the novelty wore off, they use just like ...kinda crappy laptops.

If you want on the go functionality, you could probably get a laptop as cheap as some tablets.
The Kindle Fire is great in a lot of ways. For example, a few months back, Amazon gave out "coins" (which function like money on the Amazon app store) for free to Kindle Fire users. However, you have to sideload apps that aren't on Amazon's app store—which can be a lot of them—and it can be a pain.

Another thing to consider is that apps can have viruses and spyware-type things, though this seems to be a danger on most mobile devices. On top of that, there simply aren't very many good games out there. It's a problem I've had with iOS, too; there are so many derivative, cutesy arcade games aimed at either young children or those lacking any kind of experience with more traditional gaming that most of what you'll find will be eye roll-worthy or rage-inducing. Tablets are great for watching streaming movies, though. You have to love the portability.

The Playstation 3 is also great in a lot of ways. There are some really worthwhile games released for it, and it can also stream movies (sans the portability). However, it has a lot of annoying elements like mandatory installs before you can play games, and it can tend to randomly stop working. Recently, mine has decided to completely stop recognizing discs. That kind of thing is probably pretty rare, but it can definitely happen, and it's not the first time I've had some kind of problem with it.

So both are great and terrible in their own ways. If you want to play games primarily, I'd go with the PS3. If streaming movies is more your style, then I'd go with a Kindle Fire or other tablet that'd allow you to stream movies while you're sprawled out in bed. If you're not sure exactly what you're looking for, then you should probably just save your money and wait for something awesome that you must have to come along.

I may wait as well, depends on how much I have left after the laptop and thanks for the descriptive response. response
