I fricken despise Nickelback. It has nothing to do with anything anybody else thinks. It's personal.

Love nor hate. We have the Silver Side Up album and I like it just fine. This has the first major hits that launched the band into Top 40 territory, so obviously a bunch of those tunes got played into the ground. The B-sides are decent.

And then deelee74 nailed it, how the similarities to those other bands mentioned are annoyingly eerie. And man, I am really frickin' done with songs about strippers, strip clubs, tramp stamps, etc.

So I guess I enjoy the early stuff, but the newer crap is crappy and derivative. Does that qualify as hate for the band? Nah, more like indifference these days.

That song makes Soulja Boy seem sophisticated.
The saddest part is the youtube comments. They can't possibly all be fake, although for the sake of humanity I wish they were.

Crunkcore? First time i heard that kind of music, before this i only heard some metalcore music with auto-tuned vocal though it was not my cup of tea, personally i found it sound slightly awful.
But i never heard something as "extreme" as this. Crunkcore, gotta remember the name.

Honestly, though, I think people worry too much about other people's taste in music. And making fun of Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, etc. is just getting old and annoying now, imo.

Extroverted hatred is stupid and pointless imo. If you don't like something, ignore it, don't support or buy it. *shrugs* If more people follow that rule more closely and spoke with their wallets, the big corporations intent on turning music into the same bland products that appeal to the same bland people ad nauseam, would get the point. Hurting sales is pretty much the only way to make the suits sit up and take notice. Giving people free publicity and attention? Not so much. So, I'm kinda with you, except I really couldn't care less about rock or the state of mainstream music these days. I like what I like and I stick to it.

Oh yeah, I forgot to add that to the list. Nickleback destroyed the Portuguese economy.

Lol. Think of it this way, every other piece of music you listen to after that is going to sound amazing.

So you see, Nickelback isn't that bad. They are incredibly mediocre, but they might be remembered in time as one of the last popular bands that didn't use autotune and had a baseline level of musical competency.

Which is kinda sad, in itself.

People hate Nickelback? I mean, I'm sure some do but I assumed they were too... blah for most to feel strongly one way or another. Maybe I could understand disappointment since they showed promise in the beginning (Fly and Leader of Men were fine songs) and then began pumping out heaps of uninteresting drivel.
