That's a bunch of crap. You can't copyright a term like that or all super hero comics would be slapped with lawsuits.

That's why you can't copyright it.

You can trademark it, though. And if you don't know the distinction between the two, I'm not overly surprised you don't understand why it's possible and what it means.

I didn't notice the bit about TM sorry.

Also, it's still a dickish move imo.

GothikOrk: Can anyone think of some old school PC RPGs...not currently available on GoG?
Rogue.

Not any worse than the whole Captain Marvel nonse.

JudasIscariot: Proof? Because that would be like Microsoft holding a trademark on the word "windows" and forcing everyone who uses that word to pay for it...

marcusmaximus: The game was released back in the mid or early 90s I think. Did they have it copyrighted back then? Or you just joking around?

Taleroth: Since 1966.

That's just one of the trademarks.
Crazy, that is like trademarking ninja, cowboy, or pirate. lol I mean, superheroes were created by a diverse bunch of small companies and creators I think... heck, Marvel didn't exist until superheroes were already around for decades.....

Superman basically created the Super Hero. That's DC comics, one of the trademark holders.

And Timely Comics, Marvel's predecessor, was around in that same time frame.

There ware many other companies around at the same time as well...

But I could be very wrong about all of this... I'm not knowledgeable about law and don't know the difference betwieen copyright and trademark really. Still, though unless the people who create superman trademarked the term, I don't think people running the company later on should be able to... But maybe they did. I have no idea. Meh, I'm being a real modern jackass (someone who tries to talk about something that they actually have very little knowledge about. It is like if someone who heard a summary of an newspaper article about string theory discussing it. In other words me in this topic. lol)

Unrelated question: why I cannot see some of the posts, for example post number 3? I see only the replies to that post.

I was banned by the spam filter by people abusing the report spam button. My posts were then deleted...and also an alt I used to ask about the ban was also report spam abused and banned.

JudasIscariot: Druid: Demons of the Mind
Druid is a pretty mediocre game, though that doesn't seem to stop GOG.
Here are a few RPG games that would be nice on GOG IMO :

Sommoner

Siege of Avelon

Darkstone

Sommoner...lol. Yeah, SUMMONER is awesome. If only it worked right on newer OSs.
Wizards & Warriors.

Burntime.
I loved playing Sommoner but never could complete it because of game bugs near the end and that was back on Win Millenium. I still have it on CD and was going to try it out Win 7 but not sure I want to waist my time.....LoL!!
