Namco Museum Volumes 1 and 3. Of course they were the only games I had for the hand-me-down PS1 I got.
Far and away the King's Field series. Also the Jumping Flash games, and of course the original Silent Hill. Honorable mention to the Master Of Monsters sequel, though the Genesis original remains the best.
Suikoden
Suikoden 2
Metal Gear Solid
Final Fantasy Tactics
Final Fantasy VII - VIII - IX
Chrono Cross
Xenogears
Resident Evil 1 - 3
Tomb Raider 1 & 2
Silent Hill
Grandia
Dino Crisis 1 & 2

Underrated games that i liked
Destruction Derby
Sentient
Sentinel Returns
Lifeforce Tenka
Tombi
The Adventures of Lomax
Jumping Flash 1 & 2
Kula World
Overboard
Wipeout
Motor Toon Grand Prix 2,
Wild Arms
Discworld 1 & 2
Broken Sword 1 & 2

Silent Hill, probably.

the_atm: That's another thing, never played any Final Fantasy until I think crisis core on the PSP... which, from what I'm told, means that I was missing out big time. But I think I was a bit young at the time to play Final Fantasy. One day though I'll play Tactics.
I should point out that Final Fantasy Tactics isn't "really" a Final Fantasy game except in title and a tiny bit of shared names-for-things.

No mention of Fear Effect 1 and 2 a game that I wish was release on USA's PSN (only exclusive to EU sadly)

Senteria: Command & Conquer
I am curious to know how Command & Conquer works on PS1? Is it one of those rare Console RTS that worked?

Air Combat
Alundra 2
Ape Escape
Crash Bandicoot 2
Diver's Dream
Final Fantasy VII
Grandia
Harvest Moon - Back to Nature
Heart of Darkness
The Lost World - Jurassic Park
MediEvil
Megaman 8
Metal Gear Solid
Oddworld - Abe's Exoddus
Rayman
Rescue Shot
Street Fighter Alpha 3
Street Skater

Haven't played much on the PS1 but if I have to choose one game, that would be Metal Gear Solid.
Without a doubt Metal Gear Solid or Resident Evil 3.

I loved the console port of C&C and til this day I have played a lot worse attempts at bringing the franchise to console.

I'm totally a PC guy, so my only consoles have been a C64 and a PS1 (with my brother).
My first games on the latter were Tomb Raider and Wipeout.

TR is probably my favourite, expecially for the novelty effect.
Other great titles were Final Fantasy 7-9, Suikoden 2, Crash Bandicoot 2, Resident evil 1, Silent Hill 1, Metal Gear Solid 1.

Unfortunately, my brother managed to ruin our big memory card, so I couldn't finish many of them! :O
Also, I've missed out some famous games like Chrono Trigger and Xenogears.

I'll have to rectify that in the future!

I am enjoying all these PS1 games I never played via the PS3's PSOne Classics.
and [url=http://www.mobygames.com/game/playstation/twisted-metal]Twisted Metal were great for the original PlayStation!

Wouldn't it be nice if GOG could get the DOS version of Wipeout? :)
