jbunniii: Playing Morrowind, wrapping gifts, drinking coffee. Just splurged and bought copies of Skyrim for my wife and me during the $40 Steam sale. Normally I would have waited two years for a $10 GOTY sale, but this is one of the few new titles in recent years that sounds like it's worth the higher price tag.

jbunniii: That's my favorite Xmas song!
Played Skyrim for about 90 hours on my PS3 before giving it up and waiting for patches. It actually comes close to being better than Morrowind (my #1 game of all time) but I'd have to actually finish a storyline to confirm that. You will LOVE it.
Christmas Eve? It's Christmas already! I need to go to sleep :p

I'm just curious, because most people here in Poland are traditional, and if you told them "I am eating some pizza for christmas", most would think it's a joke. Or at a contrary, that you have a very sad life :P

so many countries, so many customs ;)

That seems to be the consensus - much better than Oblivion, and right up there with Morrowind. Sounds almost too good to be true. Guess I'll find out for myself in about an hour and a half when it finally finishes downloading.

BTW, I recently installed the Morrowind graphics extender for the first time (via Morrowind Overhaul) and holy hell, it's like a new game! It's pretty buggy - seems to crash randomly every hour or so and sometimes spontaneously everything goes almost pitch black, even inside buildings - but worth the aggravation so far. I love that the text is finally clear enough that I can read it without squinting. I've actually been reading some of the books now! Frame rate is pretty slow at 1920x1200 but tolerable.
I got Zelda: Skyward Sword and Anno 2070. No Skyrim. So... yea... I guess someone gifted me what they like to play...

Well, you gotta realize, the US is really big and a lot of families don't end up being able to be together during most holidays. If you're one or two people it's hard to justify some of the more "grand" traditions. I.E. a traditional feast is a lot of work, cooking, and expense for two people, especially when one of them doesn't even like the feast's food all that much:)

but not even a trout with champignons? I'm not talking about making a big feast and party, but there is a holiday cuisine you have to follow here, even if making a dinner just for two :P

We put kids to bed few hours ago and are recovering now after Christmas supper, Santa Claus mumbo-jumbo etc. My wife has finished watching some romantic comedy and I just done my xmas shopping on gog and downloading games right now.
My parents and sister with her family spend their Christmas skiing - so I'll be staying home all Christmas (no one to visit or to be visited by..) :-)

EDIT:
I was hoping for a sex tonight but my daughter just woke up and it seems she's gonna sleep with us (again) :-(

Tell her Santa won't come if she sleeps in other bed! That a Santa will not find her, looking from her bedroom window and will assume nobody's there and leave no presents :P

No, though that does sound tasty, all our holiday traditional meals result is 50 pounds of meat. My family has an enchilada recipe that is traditional (only for us) that you could do for 2 people and not have too many leftovers, my daughter is not a fan, though.

Understood. Traditional cuisines are different in different countries. I think in Poland we have many dishes that do not require a lot of money, and it comes from all the years of poverty our country suffered centuries ago (well, commoners suffered, not nobles, of course)
So this is much easier to cook holiday dinner just for two people and don't get broke or waste food.

But pizza is still a no-go here :P
