Other than Dungeon Master and Lands Of Lore, I've never played a CRPG. Which 10 would you personally recommend?

Depends on wich kind of rpg games, but you mention dm and lands of lore so Stonekeep would be a game you like as well and might and magic 1 to 3 can be hard if you arent used to map making. Ar fatalix and ultima underworld are not a party based but it is a dungeon crawler rpg, if you know the dnd rules baldurs gate and planescape torment can be fun. If its more hack and slash but where you need to be careful how to fight the gothic series. Divine divinity is more like a diablo hack and slash wich can be fun as well.

If you like them both, you should find somewhere and try Eye of the Beholder series. Also take a look at new GOG release, Legend of Grimrock.

Well, if i would be lucky enough to buy Legend of Grimrock in some future I will play it hard mode / without automap. Automapping is just too easy :D
This isn't on GoG, but maybe you should try The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall.
Fun game and Bethesda released it for free on their website.
